I remember watching a special on fans in Philly and they were talking about the hate that the fans have for the opponents. In this case I cant remember who, but he was a long time Flyer and had just recently been traded. His team was back in Philly for a game and he was driving to the rink, stopped at a light and was getting absolutely destroyed verbally by a group of 8-10 year olds playing street hockey. He just shrugged and said "They train them early here in Philly"

Kinda interested in what makes one city's fans more ruthless than others. Philly's always considered one of the less classy and notoriously harder on opponents, did it start with the Broad Street Bullies personality and that rubbed off on the fans, and now that's kinda their identity? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Or just something in the water.

Most opponent players use fan negativity as a motivator (Michael Jordan was famous for using fan abuse to spur him on, and often trash talked back after successful plays!).
