Not one person has said season is lost. Nothing is more annoying than those who have to always consistently come to the defence of the team on here. Criticism is honesty, nothing more nothing less.

however, if they don't come off that plane with a terminator mentality tonight, they may as well kiss their season goodbye.
OK.

There's definitely a lot to be critical of. Nothing is really clicking, other than the PK. The offense has been mostly from one line. The defense pairs aren't clicking. Neither goalie has played like they can.
But the sky is falling hyperbole is at least as annoying as anything you're accusing me of. The season is 10 days old. There are 78 games left. Things will get better.

You'd think with all the Hamilton hype in the offseason people would have more to say about that. Right now I feel like we're looking at the next Jay Bouwmeester
He's 22 years old and adjusting to a new system. Plus he was never great defensively.
If it makes people feel any better the Ducks are off to a worse start than we are and they're currently losing to the Avalanche. Anyone think their season is over or that they're in a world of trouble?
Flames play only 10 minutes again, lose 3-1 to Jets
- Top Pairing of Gio-Hamilton looking much poised out there. Would like to see Hamilton play with an edge more, though thought he did well during the PK. Gio was the best defenceman out there
- That second line had strong forchecking and created some good chances. Maybe one to many passes at times.
- Top line tried out their but need to have crisper passes to each other.
- Ferland-Stajan-Jones, again had some chances, but the passes were too late or didn't connect. I would like to see Ferland sit for a game and draw Granlund in.
- Jooris was good on the forecheck but had penalty's that didn't help at all. Need a better all around game from him
- Frolik remains a great acquisition, but should've shot on that chance
- Goalie situations still remains a question. Hope to see what Ortio brings to the table soon.
- Consistency remains a question. Are we really that that hard-working team that we were last year?
- if we lose against the Oilers, I will start to question the Flames. Didn't expect to win against the Jets in there barn, though it was much closer then expected.
(I miss Brodie)

Plenty of season to go, but they really need to bear down offensively. It feels like they have more talent, but are messing around with fancy passes and when they do connect on a nice pass, they miss the net. Very frustrating. Not sure you can say the have out worked anyone yet, which they need to do, no matter the talent level.

From HFBoard oiler fan, in analyzing MacT's management:
O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
This team looks worst than last year or everyone's figured out how to play against the smaller team or oppositions are just waiting for the Flames defense to drop to the ice block shots. There's no booming shots from the blue line. This team plays small even thought the backside got a bit bigger. Can't really blame any of the goalies when they're holding the team in but no one is really scoring.

So your saying if they come out tomorrow and get flattened by the Oilers you have no problem seeing them turn it around? Because I see it opposite.
I thought I saw in the ENG thread the pitiful Oilers have to go 102+ point pace or better to make the playoffs. That last year only a few teams actually did that, including Chicago.
Let me remind you we have exactly 1 more win than the Oilers. Lose tomorrow and we will be in the same boat as them.
So you can LOL all you want but I stand by my statement in full. They come out tomorrow and lose to the Oilers their season is in serious jeopardy. No just because of the math, but because it will show the lack of character this team truly has losing to that tire fire.
I also stand by my assertion that they have a low probability of losing tomorrow, so you can also take that into account before writing what I said off as hyperbole.

It's absolute hyperbole. The Flames won't need to "go 102+ point pace or better" to make the playoffs, because even if they lose tomorrow, that puts them 3 games under .500. A 102 point pace the rest of the season would put them at 99 points. Which is more than they finished with last year. And would get them quite comfortably into the playoffs in 14 of the last 15 seasons.
I don't like it when the Flames lose either. But no team, not even the laughable Oilers, is out of an 82 game season after 5 games. It's completely ludicrous to suggest otherwise.
