No one, 5 lost (including me) bet against you.
The 20 question though didn't appear to really inform your other questions. It would have been my first question but I was surprised by its lack of impact.

Squiggs, you got the answer in 13 questions, using the halving method the mean is 14 questions, so you did well.

actually I was mistaken, Rathji had 4 Gaudreaus so squiggs gets 2 more and 2 go back into the bank.
yeah it was funny, those who won the main match all picked Rathji
GGG, Hockeyguy15, GP_Matt, Starseed and Puxlut
Bandage Man gained 7 Gaudreaus from this death match!
Gaudreau counts going into Round 2
GGG 5
Hockeyguy15 and GP_Matt 4
Starseed and squiggs96 3
Puxlut 0
Everyone else 1

The other thing I did that was dumb was reasking my first question. As soon as I hit send I knew I already had the answer, given the responses of Girly and Rathji.

I would not have allowed that. You had to reask.

Also want to announce that Party Elephant can no longer continue and will be permanently replaced by Finger Cookin. East Coast Flame will return so I thank Boo Radley for subbing in.
If anyone of you need to step away for a main match, Boo Radley will gladly sub in!

I think you've been underrated since CP Mafia 3 when you had the pikachu post restriction. It was your first game, and the first time CP Mafia had seen a post restriction. First impressions sometimes stick even if they shouldn't.
Personally, I didn't bet because I didn't think I had an advantage picking the winner.

Wow - great job by both. I don't think I'd have the creativity to come up with questions that would narrow it down that fast.
I think Rathji is well know as being in IT as well on this site. People associate computer smarts with logical thinking and therefore likely pegged him as a good candidate to bet on. Way to prove 'em wrong squiggs!

If Rathji won, he would have gone ahead of me in Gaudreaus if I did not bet on him. Otherwise, I probably would not have bet.

I totally agree that my advantage was slight, if there was one at all.
I could have (and probably should have) lied and said the randomizer ended up picking someone who I felt was weaker than Squiggs, but I decided not to. In the end, my entire strategy going into the match was wrong, and shot down by Girly. I was planning on using the language and phrasing of the questions and answers to give my opponent at little useful information as possible, as well trying to phrase things to force them to give me their password in a single question.
Since I spent all my effort thinking in this way, I didn't put enough effort into implementing a logical question sequence, so I wasted some questions even trying to implement the basic dividing strategy.
Either way, as Delgar pointed out, Squiggs used a very effective algorithm, and my rough math had me needing to get an answer in about 15 attempts or I would likely lose. I knew early on that I was behind that pace, which is why I tried to cut some corners and it sealed my fate by putting me even further behind. In the end, I was probably 6 questions away.

Thanks for putting this on Girly, and thanks for inviting me.
Looking forward to watching from the sidelines.

So Rathji if you had to do it all over, who would you have picked for the death match?

This was my logic for betting Rathji. Really given roughly equally strong players I should of bet on who went first.
