The ump called the play dead which stopped the defence from even attempting to get the ball back home. I realize it would have been futile, but the point remains.
Cant believe they would allow a run to score on such a bush league event like this in a playoff game.

This is ridiculous....listening to the guys on ESPN talk about it, they can not fathom how this is possible. How this kind of play can possibly end a teams season.
Maybe Don Cherry is right. What a joke.

Oh man, hopefully the Jays don't lose because of this or that place might riot.

I don't trust these commentators and their interpretation of the rules. Really crossing my fingers here.

If anything shouldn't the batter be out for interfering with the throw? Same as a throw to 2nd?

Yah, he waived it dead in the middle of the "play". And ump 72 needs some more chewing tobacco I think.

Martin threw the ball back to Sanchez, but it hit Choo's bat and so Odor ran home. Ump called time before he got there, but now the run has counted.

Help, save, whatever.

So the Jays should start trying to put their bats in front of the Texas catcher everytime he throws back to the mound?

Can the Jay's just start diving in front of every throw back to the mound when they are at bat now?

Choo accidentally-on-purpose has his bat in front of Martin's arm. Can't blame him, I guess it worked.
