Only 41 goals though. Bust.

Yeah, if he really wants to impress me I would like to see an 81 goal, 81 assist season. 50 of those goals better come in 38 games or less though.

I think the article about how he hated Kessel, then began to like him after managing him for team USA was very interesting. I also liked how after the Baertschi debacle, he sat Gaudreau down last season (press box) and told him not to change his game or he'd be demoted for sure. I can't find the article, but I recall reading it somewhere.

I'm glad we have new Burke rather than old Burke.
I'd be even happier if new Burke lost old necktie fashion-sense.

Sounds more like 'Flames laughed off JG trade offers'

Feaster did more to secure whatever legacy he will have with the Flames by drafting Johnny, than any other move by a country mile.

He also did create the first line that the Flames currently have.

He laid the foundation for that 2011 cup run for them.

The Sedins, Kesler, Bieksa, Burrows, Edler, were all his acquisitions. That was pretty much the core, with the exception of Luongo and Hamhuis.

Luongo was acquired with pieces acquired by Burke too.
Edler and Burrows were Nonis acquisitions while Luongo was primarily traded for Bertuzzi who was a Keenan acquisition. That being said a good GM (which Burke was/is) is someone who acknowledges what they have already and builds around that. Teams aren't built overnight after all and a cup victory is evidence of a decade of work, if not more.

It was Button who chose to leave Johnny off their ranking list and was his choice to pull the trigger when they did. I'm glad he's still with the organization.

Crazy part is he had Kucherov on the same list.

It was Tampa taking Kucherov that caused them to move earlier on Gaudreau.

Would have been awesome to grab both those guys in that draft.

Feaster had an intelligence to him about surrounding himself with intelligent people and letting them do their jobs and trusting them to do their jobs.

I agree. Feaster allowing Button to pick Gaudreau when he felt he had to was a great managerial move. Monahan is an unreal player but was an obvious choice. Finding the late round star really makes a GM look good
