My guess almost immediately was the Minister. If anyone would become a turncoat and want to kill off the remaining survivors it would be him, especially based on how he is viewed now.

Where'd they get helium for the balloons? That must be like the world's most scarce commodity.
|
They noted that during The Talking Dead saying that helium would last for a long log time. Perhaps one of the kids had a birthday party before this all went down and they have a canister.
Everyone should watch The Talking Dead afterward to get some of the details and the "how it's done" video, not to mention some great interviews.

It's obviously that Ron kid.
He saw the pit, he knows the zombies are there. He hates rick and the new group, including Carl who is stealing his girlfriend, and he's an idiot kid from a sheltered existence that doesn't understand the consequences of what he's just done.

Totally agree, but it's almost too obvious which makes me think that's what they want us to think.

Good episode.
Dr. Dre's wig was awful, though.

no he doesn't, after having a magical spaghetti and motorcycle parts dinner at Aaron's house, he barely even believes in guns anymore and has been pushing Rick to try and recruit new townspeople.
so I'm with the guy who wanted to fortify the quarry zombie pit. without it, the town is exposed to future herds that otherwise would have been captured. there's just so many terrible things that can (and did) go wrong with Rick's zombie parade. were they really just planning to keep leading them a few more miles down the road, and hope they don't just turn around for whatever reason?

So what happens when the pit gets too full? The barriers can't hold them in forever

You'd think that because there are so many of them, all in close proximity to each other, and all trapped in that pit, that you could lob in some molotov cocktails and just watch them burn.

Very slick episode. I like they showed the planning and implementation of the plan simultaneously. If they had done it in chronological sequence, the first half would have been so boring. Nice plan to mix it together so we get the plan and action simultaneously.

Very enjoyable episode.
I was interested in one specific exchange between Morgan and Michonne regarding a protein bar. He asks her is she took it, she denies it.
I can't decide if this was meaningless banter or an issue.

Sure they can, if they're strong enough. I tend to agree, if you have the ability to fortify that thing enough you can create a really handy zombie trap. If the trap gets too full, it becomes an enclosed stampede in slow motion - a meat grinder. Sort of like the zombies that were crushed by the herd against that makeshift wall (which wasn't very strong).
The risk there, which given how this TV show works is an absolute certainty to materialize at the worst possible instant because of some nefarious deed performed by some cowardly antagonist, is when the fortifications are brought down.

Well, they were giving away Morgan Bars on The Talking Dead so take what you will from that I guess.

It's definitely been hinted at that she's some kind of agent for the wolves.

I was really hoping we would see them use those Walkers as a weapon. It was obvious at the start this was going to some kind of flash back episode so I thought maybe the Wolves had attacked them and this was their way of getting revenge by leading a massive army of Walkers either to the now taken over Alexandria or the Wolves discovered home base. Now THAT would have been a way to kick off the season.
I thought it was good, but not anything better than what we saw last season. Shows that don't progress make me lose interest. I am basically in this one just to see the ending at this point, although I don't think it will be the ending we are used to in Zombie type productions.
