After pissing away literally 100's of thousands of $$$ over the years on vehicles I would have to say my dream is one that's paid for and runs!

Anyhow, my dream car would be a Tesla Model S P85D. The specs on this thing are insane.

85 kWh battery with all-wheel drive
90 kWh upgrade increases range 6%
405 km range (EPA)
3.3 seconds 0-100 kph
3.0 seconds 0-100 kph with Ludicrous Speed Upgrade
10.9 seconds 400 metre with Ludicrous Speed and Range Upgrade
259 hp front motor power
503 hp rear motor power
713 lb-ft motor torque
250 kph top speed

The car legitimately beats V8 stock cars in the 0-100km and 400m (1/4 mile) by a huge margin. I don't need top speed but I enjoy capacity for quickness.

Other than those unrealistically-priced cars, I like these:

The Original NSX (Are they actually going to make a new one, or is it just talk?)

Spoiler!

The DeLorean:

Spoiler!

And the Testarossa (complete with chicks in bikini):

Spoiler!

This is going to be my vehicle when it is released. Nothing earth shattering, but looks like an awesome remodel of the Wrangler. Supposedly for 2017 or 2018.

Someone already posted the Mercedes 6 wheeler, that would be mine, if money was no object; dream car.

This however would do just fine

Spoiler!

Although there are many impractical super cars one could list I have instead opted to go for the Jeep Gladiator concept.

Got to drive a Tesla Model S 85D. It's crazy. It's the smoothest, most powerful, most fun cat I've every even sat in. Even cool things like adaptive cruise control that reads speed limit signs and adjusts your speed blew me away. Headlights even automatically dim to oncoming cars. It's so eerily quiet when you punch it and man it hits top speed fast. My stomach was in my throat

I love what Tesla is doing to shake up the industry, but this is one thing I really dislike about it and most new cars...the lack of engaging sound. Electric cars basically have no sound (which can be a good thing in most driving conditions, but not so good in terms of fun factor), and all the small turbos that are replacing their bigger NA engines, sound pretty whispy and boring in comparison to the NA engines they replace (so bad that some cars are piping in fake sounds now).

Unfortunately that's one of the pitfalls of progress I guess. What gives an engine a great sound is exactly the inefficiency that new tech is helping to minimize. Good for efficiency and power, bad for visceral engagement. Even Ferrari is going with Turbos now, and all 911's will ALL have turbos starting with the next gen. Get ready for prices to go up even more on the classics.

It's totally absolutely true, but kind of silly if you think about it. It felt more like an amusement park ride than a drive, but what about a sound is so important? It's a strange and silly problem, but here we are

I don't know why, but it's just the sexiest car I've ever seen. I'm working on my skullet, while saving.

I don't know if its that strange or silly. Sound is extremely important in terms of visceral engagement. Niagara Falls on mute would feel nowhere near as awesome. Watching a movie on phone speakers, as opposed to theatre sound, just doesn't give you the same experience. Despite the ancient technology, many fans of music still prefer analog records just because of the quality of sound.

It's the same with cars. Nice sound is completely unnecessary in terms of getting you from Point A to Point B, but its hugely important in terms of adding to the experience of it all.

This so much. This gives me a weekend warrior boner. A compact pick up, with legendary off road prowess of a Wrangler... Drooooooool.

I already drive my dream car. An Acura TL. Now if money wasn't a problem and I wanted to go nuts on it, I'd create a franken car dubbed the GTL, by tossing a GTR engine into the TL. Why? No reason at all. But the TL? I'm going to drive it into the ground and enjoy every moment in it.

My absolute dream car is the Ferrari Testarossa. I'm surprised that several other have posted it as well. I know I'm probably in the minority, but I love it better than the Countach. I've never been a huge Lambo fan.

Now, if I could pick the most insane project ever... I'd love to try and rebuild the Furai. Doesn't even have to perform like the Furai. Just a car looking like it would be awesome.

The air vents and the lines on the sides are what got me hooked on the Testarossa since I was a young kid. To me, the Countach looks like a cockroach...

Yeah it's hard to even narrow to a single category... I mean, I've always wanted a Z car and finally managed that. But I guess I'll say "whatever car Jon Olsson is currently driving", so his 1000 hp RS6 Avant DTM would be the most absurd Calgary vehicle I can imagine...

Although I always did have a soft spot for the Purrari.

I'm the same. In the mid 80s, my parents bought me a remote control Testarossa, and ever since then I was hooked. I've always liked it more than the Countach as well (although I do like the Countach too for how ridiculous it is).

It's always been on my list of cars to hopefully attain one day. They were starting to get within " still expensive, but not totally out of question" range a few years ago, but have started really going up in price again the last few years (A good one is north of $100k again). It actually really sucks how all my dream childhood cars are starting to go up in price again, just as they were almost within financial reach. Now with 2 kids, my disposable income is heading south, and their value is heading north. Bah!
