Hamhuis should have come in harder. Bartkowski was able to stay in the game.

I bet if they get off to a ho hum or worse start we'll see a very visual decline in attendance at Roger's arena.
Maybe they should have offered $10 tickets?

Someone needs to turn that Gaudreau play into to one of those disappear/reappear gifs.

For such a little guy to play so fearlessly is nearly unheard of, I couldn't believe the smallest guy on the team was getting chippy. He's got that edge Fleury had, not as fast but way better hands and vision. We seriously have a superstar in the making here. He's got the perfect combination of insanse discipline, confidence and humility.
IMO it looks like a 50/50 chance that he's a PPG+ player this season. In today's league if you are, then you're probably top 10 in scoring.

Ffs he's only 22.. a budding superstar without a doubt. The tenacity he showed last night going into the rough areas and forcing plays, then hacking at the canucks players hard like that. If this is the next addition to his game it's going to make him great.

Ask Fleury, and he'd never admit Johnny is better than him. He'll always go back to "we always had a 250lb defencment on our back, and we still led the league in scoring. It's way easier nowadays for these small guys".

I believe there's some truth to that. But I like the change, if it means more of Johnny Gadreau and less of 250lbs hacks.

More clutching and grabbing, but slower defencemen and goalies with small pads.

exciting game.
It looked like vcr was always shooting high corner, and scored doing it.
Can Hiller get shoulder pads like the legion of doom used to wear to block the gap he leaves up top, when he is on his knees?

Very late to the party (and I haven't checked exhaustively through this thread), but when Monahan scored I thought that Vrbata slewfooted him. I was mad. I was relieved Monny just got up and celebrated. Vrbata is a big meanie.
