Through 4 and a half periods Gio has been our worst defenseman. His defensive coverage has been terrible.

Once again unable to clear the zone. Giordano hasn't been able to handle the puck cleanly all game. We need that poise he carried all last season to be successful.

Can a projected playoff team like the Flames really wait 15-20 games for the #1 D pairing to gel? Like Hartley said, it takes a player 15-20 games for new players to get the system.

Our top line seems to be the only line with any chemistry. The forwards need to talk to each other more or may have to move one of Gadreau, Monohan or Hudler to another line to see if they can find another line to gel.

I think this injury has really ####ed Gio up. All preseason and these two games he has looked off, hesitant, and made numerous mistakes.

he took a long time to regain form after his leg injury a few seasons ago too.
