Wings up 1-0 even though the Canes are out-shooting them 30-6. Ouch.

Babcock might into year 4 or 5 of his contract before the Leafs are a playoff team. They are really bad and lack talent across the board. And that assumes that Shanahan can even put together the needed talent in the next few year. $50 million will help him sleep at night at least.

why are the Nashville Pretenders letting themselves get hemmed in by the Oilers?

This is getting ridiculous, they're reaching so far to hype McDavid even wthin the game.

McDavid tried a power, dipsy doodle move to the net like he did so easily in the OHL, but because it's the NHL he got pushed to the corner and clobbered into the boards. They show the replay and just start gushing "Look at this, he gets hit down, and then gets RIGHT BACK UP and goes to the front of the net!!".

They've gone so long without standard fundamental hockey in Edmonton that they don't even recognize it as such when it happens.

He's so good that he gets up after he being hit, which goes along with everything I've heard such as staying in a hotel with rookies because he's a rookie. The guy's just amazing.

The McDavid hype is totally overwhelming. I feel sorry for him because the hype makes it more difficult to like him and because he's in such a bad organisation, but beyond the hype he does seem to be a really likeable young guy. I can't see him having anything but a positive influence on that organisation.

Canes up 2-1 after 2 periods, out-shooting the Wings 34-8.

Wow, Luongo really bailed out Jagr on that shorthanded 2-on-1. Three excellent rapid fire saves.

Luongo in god mode. 3 saves sprawled on the ice and a wide open net.

Looks like quite a few fans in Florida tonight. This game shouldn't hurt attendance too much. Hope they keep showing up.

Have the Oilers won 10 championships on the back of McDavid yet?

The Rangers look amazing so far this year. There are some great teams in the East

It's almost all Florida fans. Flyers fans in some spots, but mostly people from South Florida.

Entertaining game. I imagine there will be enough return visitors to boost attendance some this year.

Really though, it comes down to winning. Panthers do that, should be no problem getting fans in the building.
