Thumbs up Volunteer Call for Rocky Mountain Rally 2015 **OCT 31/NOV1**

Hello! I'm associated with the Calgary Sports Car Club and we are looking for volunteers to help at the Rocky Mountain Rally, hosted in the Columbia Valley (Radium/Invermere) on October 31st & November 1st. The Rocky Mountain Rally is hosted by the Calgary Sports Car Club, running for 42 years and is one of six Canadian National events bringing out the best teams.

This year the event has been modified to allow for better travel time for volunteers. This means you can drive out Friday evening and be done at a decent time on Sunday to travel home, not missing either day of racing.

No experience is necessary, we train you! As a volunteer you walk away with an experience of a lifetime, subsidized accommodation, some great swag and admission to the post rally awards ceremony and banquet.

There are a wide variety of positions available as can be seen here: Roles & Descriptions

We would love to see you out there, even if you can only make it for one day. It's truly an awesome way to enjoy the outdoors and combine it with some loud excitement
Visit http://www.rockymountainrally.com for more information regarding available positions and sign up at http://www.rockymountainrally.com/vo...-registration/

Rally is one of the most unique and purest forms of motorsport in the world. A rally race event has many components that combine to make it happen and a huge part is thanks to the numerous volunteers. Being a volunteer is the ultimate experience for anyone interested in rally as you see behind the scenes, meet the teams, and get as close to the action as you can get.

If you have ANY questions, feel free to contact me via PM or via e-mail at cscc.volunteer@gmail.com.

Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately something always comes up and I never even seem to be able to get out there to watch, let alone Marshall.

One of these years....

For you BC guys, there's another National event coming up on Oct 3-4, called the Pacific Forest Rally. They are also in need of volunteers! It's hosted out of Merritt BC, west of Kelowna. More info here: http://www.pacificforestrally.com/home.html

This is a great rally! I saw it a couple of times when it was held in the Porcupine Hills just south of Calgary.

I would totally do this if I was available, which I'm not.

I saw the World Rally Championship in New Zealand in 2006, and camped out in a remote part of the course where no one was. I stood on the road and took pictures of the rally cars before diving out of the way while they whizzed past me and spit of rocks and dirt all over me. It was glorious. I also camped on a bend in the road where they have to drift an entire 180 degrees around a plateau, and I would watch them drift from a tree on that plateau.

One of the best experiences of my life. 10/10, would do it again. I hope the RMR gets the volunteers it needs, it's an amazing experience live.

Thanks Muta! While we aren't up to WRC caliber (yet), the experience you just described can still be found at our events. If you like the outdoors + cars, there's nothing to beat it.

One of these days I'll make it to a WRC event.

Hi Everyone!

Friendly bump. The event is being run on Oct 31/Nov 1 again this year and the organizers are looking for a lot of help! If you can spare a weekend and have any interest in cars/outdoors, we'd love to see you there! More info is in the OP.

I really want to volunteer for this sometime. Me being in a wheelchair really buggers it up for options though. That and I'm too lazy to inquire if there would be some options for me.
