A very interesting view of what has assumed control in Washington.

Whose war?

I'm sure you've mentioned this in another of your posts, but I want to know your opinion:

Is Bush a neo-con himself, or is he just being influenced by a powerful few?

This is kind of an amusing article because Buchanan is so obivously p*ssed off at being on the sidelines. Most of his 'evidence' consists of mentioning supposed neo-cons who have supported Israel-friendly policies, and noting that the administration is going along with this. Nothing surprising there. The *only* type of administration he'd be satisfied with is an isolationist, fundamentally Christian one led by him...which ain't going to happen in the forseeable future.

Sour grapes.

Personally, I don't think that Bush is a "neo-con" per se. I thin he has extremely RW views because of his religious affiliation, but I do not see him as a neo-con himself. I don't think the neo-cons would allow him in their little club anyways. I think they have a sign at the door that stats your IQ must be so high to gain admittance and Dubya doesn't meet the standard!

Looking down the road, I think the real neo-con Bush, Jeb, will be on the Republican ticket in 2008 and will win the Whitehouse, returning the neo-cons to the seat of power, and an incredible third Bush in the Whitehouse.

Now if someone is looking for a real interesting conspiracy theory (its not really a conspiracy and its not really a theory, just a coincidence) consider that if Jeb Bush WERE elected indeed 2008, that the election in 2012 would coincide with the termination of the Aztec calendar and the End of Days. A neo-conservative with connections to a wacky religious zealot who happens to believe in the rapture? Pretty spooky!

Isn't that amzing??? Buchanan must have a hate on for Bush when his little enterprise jumps on the Kerry bandwagon. I wonder who the Bushies have p*ssed off that have got so many jumping off the bandwagon in the final two weeks of the election. Man, its like watching half the rowing team pull their oars out of the water in the last 200 meters of a race. Sucks to be Bush.

I think with Rummy & Co. suddenly admitting the extremely tenuous connections between 9/11, Iraq, and WMDs this close to the election, that Bush's half-witted imperialism is starting to tire with some of his administration.

One can only hope that enough conservatives jump ship to prevent him from being re-elected. Maybe we'll see a couple faithless electors in places like Ohio, Michigan, and Florida? Again, one can only hope.

Bush isn't a true conservative. He's a reactionary and a fundamentalist. He definitely favours conservatives and right wingers, but to get there, he uses non-conservative means.

It's no different than how many socialists from the past created elitist policies as a means to promote their social agenda. Any real socialist would have to disagree with it. I see Bush as the same, but reversed.
