Default Big Ben

Huge break for the Dolphins as Roethlisberger has had emergency surgery. Hopefully the Dolphins can take advantage of Charlie Batch starting at QB.

Quite a run of bad luck for Roethelisberger since winning the Super Bowl.

This puts the Steeler's playoff hopes in a huge hole..

Miami should beat them Thursday, followed by Jacksonville and Cincinnati which are almost certain losses if Ben is out that long.

Maybe.

Word out of Miami is that Culpepper isn't 100% recovered yet.
Is Palmer ready?

The Steelers defense is good enough to win games with Roethelisberger.

It's certainly a concern, but I wouldn't call them 0-3 just yet.

Even if he is not 100%, I'd still take Harrington over Batch. Yikes, what an ugly match up. Battle of the former Lions castoff starting QBs.

I wouldn't argue with that really, but the Steelers have a superior defense, a superior running game and home field advantage. Miami's in tough with or without Big Ben.

I think the Dolphins are getting a little too much hype this preseason...along with the Redskins.

I don't know about a superior running game, but then again I'm not the biggest Willie Parker fan out there. I'll give you the superior defense, but Miami has a very respectable one as well. I think Ronnie Brown will have a very good year in MIA, now that he isn't platooning with Williams. Very nice 4.4 yrds per carry.

See the thing with Miami is the way they finished down the stretch last season with one of the worst QB tandems in the league. Really, 3rd string QBs who had no business starting in the NFL.

Maybe its because I'm a big Culpepper fan that I think he is going to do really well down there. Given that he has a running game for the first time in his career and a strong defense.

But I agree with you on the skins, that team IMO overachieved. I really don't like their offense.

I think Culpepper will do really well in Miami too. Their defense is definitely in the top half of the league as well.

I didn't mean for my comments to come off as anti-Dolphins. I don't think they're being overhyped in the way the Skins are. I don't even think the Redskins will come close to making the playoffs. The Dolphins have a shot at their division IMO.

Maybe I like Pittsburgh more than most.

Im no big fan of the Steelers, but I have to ask why you would have this opinion?

The kid was unbeleivable last year as a (for all intents and purposes) a rookie.

Passed Staley and Bettis to become a clear cut # 1. Not a bad showing IMO.

No, I know Transplant, I just think given his size as an RB hes a between the 20s runner. He'll pile up the yardage, but when it comes to getting a score in the red zone or when you need to run the ball and the defense expects a run, hes not going to get the job done. Similar to Micheal Bennett in that respect.

Last year he had the Bus taking most of those red zone runs.
