Nice chart showing how very few players win the vast majority of money.

Article sums it up pretty well.

I think it depends on how you play. If you're someone who just goes in for the massive prize pools, then yeah your odds are pretty small. I play H2Hs, 50/50s, and multipliers each week for about $2/entry, and I usually do alright.

ESPN is pulling all DraftKing and FanDuel sponsored segments from their shows thanks to this scandal

They will continue to show advertisements and commercials for both companies though.

Wow, that's a pretty big deal. Given the scrutiny they are already getting (re: gambling) and how new the industry is, if this blows up enough it could potentially wipe out the whole industry.

Haha, well if you consider making maybe $8-$10/week a brag then I guess it is. Last week I should've taken a bath because I basically lost all my $2 entries except for two of them, but I accidentally entered a $10 game and won that one so I ended up $4 up for the week.

I'm up over $600 (from a $35 stake) over the last two NFL seasons, plus a bit of hockey at Draftkings. Almost exclusively play 50/50 games, but I did hit a decent payout in one of the bigger ones for about $400 in hockey last winter. So I guess at the end of the day it's mostly a break even proposition for me (just got lucky once) - but provides a lot of entertainment value.
Most people go after the big paydays though, and lose. They're almost like buying lottery tickets

These sites are gonna get PokerStar'ed, I'll bet neither of them are still operating by the start of next NFL season.

They got an exemption because the government considered sports betting skilled base. Of course online poker is skilled base but it's bunch together with the likes of blackjack, etc.

Likely because of some well placed political donations and lobbyists

Warning that if a prosecutor decides to go forth with charges against Draftkings or Fanduel, the money in players' accounts could be frozen for years.

Hmm. So should I pull my $50 out now, or dump it all into a $50 pool, hope to make it big, then pull it out?

Is it my imagination, or has the list of states that you are ineligible to play from grown since this 'scandal'?

It has, Nevada of all states has declared it illegal since the scandal started.
