I believe in the Jays.

Damnit. Good for Byron, he's got a young family so I'm happy he get's to keep playing in the NHL... just wish it could have been for us.

Expected. A bummer because he was a real motor, but not much for a rudder.
Unless you pair Byron perfectly, all his corsi and possession is basically wasted. We didn't have a defined spot for him, for better or worse. At least we have a little flexibility from the move.

This is unfortunate. I think Byron is underrated by many on CP due to his unfortunate breakaway issues last season, but I thought he was one of the Flames' best forecheckers last season and was great at causing turnovers and driving possession.
Ferland should be able to replace a lot of that this season, but I would've loved to have both of them.

I like the passion but do you have to refer to anyone who doesn't completely agree with your view as an idiot? Or "silly"?
Being claimed doesn't make him a better player. He still wasn't good enough to make our roster full-time. You shouldn't be surprised that some people aren't in love with Byron and it would be a mistake to think they're less intelligent than you.

Considering Byron was at the Dome today, he was most definitely still going to be part of the team.
And when somebody attempts to call me out and fails with style, I'm going to call them right back out on it.
Why don't you read the comments. 90% of the posters are sad to see Byron gone. Accept that you are in a vast minority and don't act like nobody cares that he's no longer with the organization.

Oh well. I really liked Byron but the Flames have enough depth to replace him (Granlund, Shore, Hathaway, Poirier, Arnold, Klimchuk). Was surprised when the Flames re-signed him in the first place, simply a victim of the numbers game.
Good luck in Montreal and thanks for everything!

bitter sweet.
bitter, as i like byron, he's a utility player who plays hard and has the speed and smarts that make up for his stature. That is important as no doubt he's a bottom 6 forward, and teams typically want size/grit there.
sweet, that he gets to continue on at the NHL team, albeit, not the flames. that's fine, as the flames have enough depth that bottom 6 forwards is something the flames do have options for.
assuming, you consider the following to be in your top 6 line wingers ( gaudreau, hudler, frolik, ferland/bouma), that leaves plenty of options for the bottom 6 wingers: bouma/ferland, jooris, jones, bollig, not to mention colborne when he's back, and raymond when injuries hit (Naturally, i'd rather have byron than raymond, but alas, so do the habs. ). Granlund is ready to be the first callup, as well as guys who are close down in stockton.
at the end of the day we're talking about the 12th, more likely the 13th forward on the team. yes, we lose byron who fits well there, but we have options that aren't really a drop off and in the long run, likely better options.
good luck in mtl byron!

His hard work, toughness for size, and speed made him really fun to watch.

The Flames were prepared for this and no doubt have a better plan. Good luck to Mr. Byron.
