The Boston #Bruins have signed G Jonas Gustavsson to a 1 year contract worth $700K. Gustavsson attended the Bruins training camp on a professional tryout after the #RedWings chose not to re-sign him with Jimmy Howard & Petr Mrazek both vying for the starting position.

It's true. Two main factors: 1) cap was pretty flat 2) paying core guys more for longer leaving less for the rest. That means you need cheap ELCs more now than ever.

Those two things lead to very few spots for middle of the pack vets
