They are all poor choices to be honest...socially I lean one way and financially the other

The three leaders are terrible but I think Harper is slightly less terrible, the devil you know I suppose

Justin is there because of his father, Mulclair uh, honestly I don't even know

One of these is being pushed by a party, even though it will have no bearing on day to day Canadian life.

One of these is being pushed by three parties and IS something we should be afraid of as it will likely completely warp day to day Canadian life.

One of these has not been put forward as something we should be afraid of.

Copying my post from the other thread just to get it out there.

Another huge issue is occurring with Elections Canada website and where to vote. I have my voting card and it says something different than the website does for where to vote, different town. Got my brother who lives 700 miles away to try and his is different too as is my sisters who lives in Ontario.

What the hell is going on!!!!!!!!!!

If we have another attempt at election fraud I'll be majorily pissed.

Just called the elections 1-866 number and let them know. It better be fixed.

Just curious, would the Conservatives consider you to be not a supporter? Do you live in a riding that supports another party or is at least competitive?

Edit: my guess is this is just a screwup not a plot unless there is evidence of systematic bias

I only have 2 siblings that live very far away and it happened to all 3 of us...coincidence? Also I have voted conservative in the past and was undecided at present, but this really pisses me off.

When I lived and owned my house in Calgary for 19 years, I liked to put up NDP signs on my front lawn. Every election when I went to vote, I'd find I wouldn't be on the electoral list. Minor problem but irritating.

LIB 35.3%
CPC 31%
NDP 24.3%

Conservatives are absolutely tanking in BC, where they've dropped 15 points since about September 27th. The Liberals have also opened up a 10 point lead in Ontario, and are within 5 points of the NDP in Quebec. If Canadians are actually punishing the CPC for the niqab debate, I'm going to be very impressed, but I'm still cautious.

Yeah, the Niqab debate had to have been aimed primarily at Quebec, where it seems to be a bigger issue than anywhere else. But while NDP has dropped in Quebec, the PCs haven't noticably risen, nor does it seem to be helping the PCs anywhere else, except maybe the prairies, where a moderate Tory improvement is unlikely to result in much of a seat swing, certainly not enough to offset what's happening in Ontario or BC.

The 308 site still has the NDP well ahead (19 seats)in BC, where are you getting those numbers?

308 doesn't update on weekends. Those were the latest numbers from Nanos published today.

Nanos is +/- 6% on the regional numbers so be careful drawing conclusions just yet. The general outlook is good for the Liberals though

mulcair did very well on the last debate on Friday and the NDP number was up in quebec according to 308

So funny that the future of the country is going to be decided by one province over a completley pointless issue.

This system is broken, we need proportional representation in the worst way.

So sick of everything being decided by eastern Canadians and "I got mine, f*** you" right wingers.

I like what John Cleese said on Real time last week.

"Democracy has failed", he was speaking specifically about the American election. Paraphrasing he said, what we've done is created a system where every person has an equal say, and the idea that every uniformed opinion is equally valid is just a myth we've told ourselves to believe.

This is a false truism perpetrated by the TV news stations such as CNN.

Anyways I like to fall back on Churchill in this case after being defeated in the 1945 election.

The Western (non-BC division) votes could matter if they actually had more than a handful of seats that don't default to the Conservatives every election. Without Alberta/Sask/Manitoba giving 99% of their seats to the Conservatives every election - they wouldn't be winning these past three elections and in the race in this one.
