Hudler left and was kept out for what was being speculated as precautionary measures.
 Kulak stood out on D.

 Let the season begin!

Kulak was great I thought. Engalland, not so much. Monahan had a great first but disappear ed a bit after that.Bennett got pushed around and Backlund was meh..

I was at this one. Can't say I was disappointed with the Flames effort but they did leave me wanting more. Kulak and Bennett were excellent. The rest of the team looked stuck in low gear.

Kulak looked great, very composed and smart plays in his own end. Think he deserves the spot.
 Thank god pre-season is over

Bennett always has a few highlight moments but I think he will struggle as a second line center - just not quite strong enough yet.
Was looking for more from a lot of the guys tonight but again not really disappointed from anyone

Tonight didnt really help or hurt Ramo's chances. He was good. Not great, not bad.
Gotta think theres three goalies to start the year.

Not sure why the timing was off. Expected a better showing from the offence.

Tomorrow could be an interesting day for the flames. Rosters have to be set Tuesday morning. Have to think if they are going to put anybody on waivers, tomorrow is the day. Raymond should be put on waivers, but i'm not sure he will be. Highly doubt they put any of the goalies on waivers, but if they do, tomorrow would be the day.
Kulak in my eyes past his last test to make the big club out of camp.

I was a poster going into pre-season that could not see a place for Bollig on this team. Thought he would be traded or put on waivers. Full credit to him for upping his game. His pre-season was very good and deserves to be on the roster. Hopefully he can continue his stellar play for the entire season.

Still not sure what happens to Granlund or Byron. They both should make it , but the 3 goalies situatiuon and maybe the Raymond situation kind of makes it foggy.

Pretty sure when the minutes are added up he'll be considered a third line centre to begin.

I think this game really showed that the Flames' offense is really missing Brodie. Once the jets started clogging up the middle the Flames had trouble getting the puck into the o-zone. Last season it used to be either Gaudreau or Brodie carrying the puck into the zone and then passing it off once the middle of the ice got crowded. I also hope that Hudler is doing alright. Kulak had a good game, with a few good pinches and no glaring mistakes. As for Ramo, he played well but the second goal was on him.
Anyways let's get the season underway!

That Jets team is massive. Even without Buff and Ladd in the lineup.
 Let the regular season begin!

I only picked it up half-way through the second but what stood out to me was some very disorganized breakouts with passes to nowhere and nobody; at times throwing it up the middle. We're very lucky we didn't get burned on it. Hopefully this tightens up come next week as that will normally have us eaten alive.

Should we carry 8 D once Brodie and Smid are healthy?
 Gio-Brodie
 Russell-Hamilton
 Kulak-Wideman
 Smid / Engelland

Not sure what Treliving is going to do with the goaltenders. None of the goalies have been bad.
