I know it's part of the flag. I was just saying, as a childhood fan of DBZ, if I played goal for the Predators, I would have a DBZ themed mask. The Flag plays into it, and the colors fit many of the character's uniforms.

I'm surprised to an extent the NHL even allows goalies to customize their masks. I would have figured the Gestapo in New York would mandate uniform helmets team wide, including the goalies to appease the corporate sponsor overlords.
Thank God they didn't mandate that. I hope I didn't just jinx it either. I love goal masks, especially Flames goalies (sans Hiller's black one). Kipper's skulls and fire was pure gold I tell ya.

Hard to see it as the "cradle of creativity" when his masks all have the same design elements.

I can't fault the guy for having a style and sticking with it when every goalie in the league is beating a path to his door.
But 'cradle of creativity' reminds me of a guy who calls his penis 'the hammer', and I can't abide either.
