Is anyone experiencing on-line mode lag with 16 on ps4? I play club on EASHL and two of my guys are experiencing lag and both are with Telus. We're wondering if it's a Telus issue as no one else in club is experiencing any lag (and are not with Telus).

If I am playing a game that is not in my "area" I experience lag.
One of my friends used to play with some guys from Philly so we joined their team and every game lagged really bad so we had to leave and make our own in our area.

We have guys from all over. I live in Burnaby BC, one guy from Chicago, one in Colorado, one in Kamloops BC and two guys in Alberta (one Edmonton and one in Strathmore). The only guys that lag are the Alberta boys and they are both with Telus. We're racking our brains trying to figure out why they lag, but to me it seems like it might be a Telus thing. Are you with Telus?

I'm with Shaw but the friend I play with is with Telus. I didn't notice it quite as much as he seemed to. Maybe Telus is to blame for some of it.

Yep every now and then when playing HUT I'll get it lagging o some games. It almost stutters along. But then the next game will be fine. Weird.

It's more then likely a telus thing. I think it has a lot to do that the bandwidth is shared both to tv and internet and the QoS prioritizes tv over internet.
Might also happen more if they are playing over WiFi. Are they hard wired?

I'm with Telus and hard-wired with DMZ. I still get terrible input lag when I play EASHL, however, online 1-vs-1 is flawless.

So, out of the box I thought this game was a winner. I played a few Play Now games and it was hard to score, and my goalie was actually playing amazing. Shots on goal were close and again, my goalie (regardless of team) was making actual saves and looked realistic.
Started up a franchise on the exact same difficulty and back to issues that have plagued this series forever. I just played a game last night, I played the best I have played offensively in my season (only 6 or 7 games in) outshot the Caps 43-19 and lost 7-6. My goalie was letting in flutter shots, bad angle shots, any deke move whatsoever. If it was shot right at him, he made the save.
That is the 2nd 7-6 game that I have lost, the other one was more closely played and I took it as a one off.
I have had one game where Hiller let in 2 goals and one where Ramo let in 3. All others 4 or more.
Both Hiller and Ramo save % are at .830 or less. I play smart D, I don't chase guys, play a forward and cover who I am supposed to.
Is this a tuning issue? A franchise issue? I haven't gone back and played Play Now, I suppose that should be my first step.

One guy has changed pretty much EVERYTHING he can think of. Wired and WiFi. He's plugged directly in to his modem. He's contacted support at both EA and Telus (conveniently they blame each other) they've both done speed tests, had him change his DNS and UPNP settings. Still lag. Telus was helpful by replacing his modem and upping his internet speed at no additional cost, but he still has lag. No one else is lagging in our club except the two Telus guys. They both say however, that the lag is only during the evening and night (peak hours). If they jump on during the weekend in the middle of the day, it's smooth.

This sounds a lot like my experience with Shaw. Granted, it sounds like he's gone through troubleshooting quite a bit more extensively than I have. I'm on BB50 with Shaw, and my speed test online and on the PS4 get to be around 45MB down. At peak times though (the only time I can really play), most online games are unplayable. Not a huge deal as I'm mainly a single player fan, but it's consistently bad.

Interesting. I am with Shaw and never lag. One guy is thinking of switching to Shaw.. but it would suck to switch and still lag.

Troubleshooting network speed has really taken it out of me over the years. There's so many damn factors involved it's exhausting.

In my case, it's just EASHL. I can play online 1-vs-1 at telus peak hours and not have any lag at all. EASHL is laggy no matter what time of day for me. If someone passes me the puck, it takes 1-2 seconds for my guy to do whatever button I press. By that time, the puck is usually taken away from me, or the passing lane is gone.

It's if the team gets room to skate. You kind of have to be shifty (literally) on the joystick as the forwards are entering your zone, push them to the outside if you can but you really can't give them space which is why you need to be shifty. If they get open area to skate in your zone they'll probably score eventually. I rarely get scored on more than 3 times in a game, you have to be real smart cutting off shooting and passing lanes so that most shots hit you while giving them as little space as possible.

If I force them to the outside, they score bad angle goals. I actually stand a better chance letting them down the middle, at least the goalie squares up then. I assure you it's not that.
I read on OS today after I posted this, a lot of people saying that the goalies are junk since the latest tuner.

I'm still a little cool to the whole "morale" system in GM mode. It seems like one of those cheesy gimmicks that may not survive many more iterations. I'm fine with cheesy gimmicks that help "flesh out" management modes a bit more, but once they actually start trespassing on the core mode in ludicrous fashions, it's gone too far.
My Dougie Hamilton healed from an injury and was in the "injured but playable" phase of recovery, so I decided to keep him scratched as a precaution. Digital Dougie interpreted this as a snub and his rating immediately dropped from 87 to 84. What?! He's had a couple of good games since and is now an 85, but the whole mechanic seems a little goofy.

It's a gimmick and seems poorly executed. Have a team meeting for a pre-season game and tell the guys to stick to the systems and work hard and somehow three quarters of my team loses morale. It's bizarre.
The FIFA system is more in the background. Pay the guy what he wants, play him to the amount you promised and they are happy. Don't do those things and they aren't happy. It works more in the background and makes sure you don't promise everyone that they will be the most important player on the team. It is annoying to have a guy out of the blue popping up and saying he's unsettled and wants a transfer but I'll take that over the NHL system. I'm not even out of the pre-season yet and I've made the decision to simply ignore it and stop having team meetings.

Bad angle goals on which side of the goalie? They shouldn't be scoring from the outside, especially if they are outside of the dots. It rarely happens to me and getting scored on is not an issue at all so there's something you can do to limit it if I can.
You can't let them set up in the open, stay close on the guy entering the zone and don't let him deke you out. Focus on not letting the guy get room more than focusing on the puck, if you're on them they'll almost never get a good shot from the outside. You gotta be shifty on the left stick as they enter the zone.
