Default Special Tool/Wrench?

What sort of a tool do I need to loosen this nut? Anyone think I could get one from Canadian Tire?

Thanks!

Looks like a bearing perhaps?

The clutch on my motorbike.

There was some wear on it, most likely from the guys who replaced my clutch in Portland, OR 4 years ago. So I gave it a couple hits with a screwdriver, no go. Figure I'll get the proper wrench before wrecking anything.

I think there's a special holding tool for that, but I'm rusty on that stuff.

Looks like it'll need a puller... best advice to give is to call a place that services that brand of bike and ask. Might even be able to borrow it for some cash.

Auto Value once let me borrow a tool for free. I wonder if you printed a picture, they might be able to get you the right tool.

is it threaded on? There is a socket for that kind of thing but it's mainly used on trucks.

It might be a reverse thread. I'd try and get a manual or go to a site that specializes in your bike model. Sometimes they even have a site where you can download the manual.

I knew there was a place in town that let you borrow tools for free. I'll print off the pics and take them in on Monday.

That thought did cross my mind, that's why I only gave it a few hits before giving up.

Have you tried a hammer and a pin punch???Its chewed up a bit so looks like thats what was used to put it on.And it may be left hand thread like Vulcan suggested.

I did give it a few shots with a hammer and flat screwdriver, but since I'm not 100% sure about the thread direction I stopped.

I foudn the tool I need though;

At least I know what it's called and what it looks like now. Just need to hit a shop and borrow. Who are the guys who make a big deal out of lending tools? They were advertising it on the radio and everything.
