If the Canucks are on the market for a goalie, they can't have Hiller. If for no other reason than I don't want anything I'm seeing here.

It seems like Hartley is sticking with those combos for now. Maybe he wants to see them to start the year and change things up if necessary, but I'm guessing Ferland starts on that top line.

Either way, sure is nice to have options!

Last night was the full game for Ortio. Tonight is the full game for Hiller. Presumably, tomorrow will be a full game for Ramo.


I was wondering if they'd change the plan and put McDonald in for the third. Since this is a guaranteed OT game, I wonder if Bob wants Hiller to get a taste of 3-on-3 and doesn't want him cold for it?

Except Hartley has been experimenting with it this preseason. There have been hints in the off-season that Hudler could play with Bennett a lot, since he's been so good with our rookies these last 2 years.

Ferland adds size & a power game to the Monahan & Gaudreau line. Frankly that should be putting fear into the hearts of our opponents.

Frolik - Bennett - Hudler makes a lot of sense as you can comfortably give the rookie tonnes of ice time with 2 responsible veteran 2-way players. He may have to learn Czech though...

Bouma - Backlund - Colborne provides us with an excellent 3rd line.

The 4th line wouldn't be short of veteran presence:

Raymond/Byron/Bollig - Stajan/Shore - Jones/Jooris

I'd say we're in great shape heading into this season. Great balance of talent & depth.
