I know this is probably going to piss some people off, but those asking blackout questions.. have you read the thread at all? It seems every third question is about whether or not the Flames games will be blacked out. Please read the answers, or sign up with a DNS/VPN if you're really worried.

That post was from April. When I checked on Monday night it had all of the preseason games listed, but not video feeds, just boxscores, play tracker and radio links.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.
Has anybody been able to get it without a share everything plan? I've been with Rogers for years, but I'm on a business plan... They seem pretty strict with their promotions being tied to that stupid share everything plan.

I've read the whole thread, both in fact (in the tech forum). I've also done a ton of research online. I get different answers each time from each source of info.
It says specifically on the website that blackouts are in effect. Then I've read from some American users that blackouts do in fact occur. Then I read from some Canadian fans that blackouts don't happen, but sometimes they do.
I guess once I have it up and running, I'll find out what the truth is from where I am. Sounds to me like is varies from region to region, or that GC is selective is who experiences them.

GC is not available for purchase in the USA. I emailed the NHL people at the beginning of September, and they said it would be available after the 2nd week of September, but obviously it's still not.
Anyone have any info on that? I used a VPN and found out that the Canadian version is available for purchase though.

I'm not sure when the American GC is supposed to become active. But the link below shows the Canadian GC is now available and currently going for early bird prices.

I have had GC for 3 years now and have not run into a single blackout. I might just be lucky but I have a feeling its not as much of an issue as people think. I watch Flames and Red Wings games when I'm traveling to Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and even when I'm at home and trying to work I put the game on in a small window on my laptop.
Edit: I use the iSO app, The Roku app, the PS4 App and Safari.

That is half what I paid. How so I wonder?
Are you in the UK? If so, why would you worry about blackouts?

The NHL sold the rights to a small satellite channel and any game the show, which annoyingly includes HNIC every week, is an instant black out for 24-48 hours.

I just signed up for GCL using my sister's Roger's account and got it for free again. Did this last year and got all Flame's games, no blackouts.

Yeah, with Rogers share everything it's free. I watched the Flames clinch their PO spot last year while I was in Mexico.

So, which is better for watching Flames games in B.C.?
NHL Center Ice from Shaw or Rogers Gamecenter?

Well, I only have Rogers experience but it works fine. On my Apple TV it's a great HD pic.

Hi everyone,
Just to share my experience for anyone in Ontario
I'm with Rogers in Toronto, and because I have the mid-tier internet package (now called Roger Ignite 60), I get Game Centre and Shomi free for the year.
For business wireless plans, it was free last year as a promotion, but not this year.
Game Centre is also free with the Friends and family share plan.
For black outs, I believe I was able to watch every game last year. For me though, I couldn't be logged in to multiple accounts, as I remember my phone telling me I was already logged into somewhere else (my computer).
Lastly, Rogers game centre does not officially begin until the official start of the NHL season in October. Pre-season games are up to the individual team regional provider, so some games may work, but most of them won't be available.
Hope this helps
LChoy

Just a heads up, Sport Chek has a promo until October 19 that if you spend $120 or more on Reebok Official NHL products (Jerseys, hats, etc.), you'll receive a free trial of GC Live for the first 2 months of the season. Not a bad deal if you're planning to get a new jersey for the start of the season anyways.

Has anyone had issues watching NHLTV/GameCenter on different internet browsers? Up until a few months ago when Iīd watch on my computer it worked perfectly. Itīs been months now that on Chrome I watch 10 seconds and it pauses for 30. Itīs unwatchable. I switched to Mozilla and IE that worked fine until recently where they started having the same issues. The NHL people were absolutely useless in helping. Has anyone else experienced this on? On the iPad it works just fine.
