Any word if Draisaitl is going to be on an actual NHL team any time soon?

A 3 assist game (1 on an Empty net and 1 secondary) got him to 4 points in 8 games. I'm not sure it's the best course, but I'll admit I've only watched 2 games of his. He gave the puck up a few key times those two games with no points

The games where he collected points were the first two games where he received significant minutes - which stands to reason.
He seems to be making the players around him better, as the "fourth" line he centres ended up receiving more icetime than the Canucks' "third" line against Chicago. He also has the third best faceoff percentage in the league on more than 30 draws, including games against Toews and Kesler (both of whom he outdrew). That's a useful skillset to have in a defensive centre.
And his Corsi numbers are better than the Canucks' three other potential bottom six centremen in Mattias, Vey and Richardson.
The young man has basically played his way onto that team.

Yep he's made it on merit
he hasn't been outmatched physically at all, drives hard to the net, getting more and more confidence as well, plus as Meers pointed out his TOI has gone up lately
started to play pk the last few games too

If any team can make a player out of Ritchie, it's Anaheim.

Bumperoo.. Anyone hearing anything about some of the top picks from this year and last year? Is Eichel looking good? Any other 2015 picks going to step right in this year?
Obviously we know about McDavid and Bennett, but I'm still interested in the others..

Eichel is looking really good so far. Obviously it's just preseason right now but he already has a couple of goals, including a shorthanded game winner.
Provorov in Philly was just sent back down to junior today (Konecny too).

I watched the game last night, and it was probably best for both to be returned to junior at this point.
On another note: Watch out for Shayne Gostisbehere (man is that hard to spell right). He looks really good so far this pre-season and might be a player to watch this year as far as rookies go. Lost a year to an injury, but is fully healthy now and looked pretty damn good last night against the Rangers with 2 goals in the 3rd. I think he makes the opening night top 6 for the Flyers.
Streit-MacDonald
Gudas-Gostisbehere
Schenn-Del Zotto
Schultz
Or some variation of that. I'm also pulling for him because he's from Margate FL. which is just down the road from me. Who says expansion into the sunbelt states was a bad idea?

LOL, serious name for a serious player (I believe it's French). Watch him sometime, you'll be impressed.

I think they call him Ghost Bear in Philly (or maybe it was his college nickname?)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I bet Eichel wins the Calder trophy. Not by much, but I think he'll do it.
McDavid will be better long term though.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Eichel is definitely in the same tier of player as McDavid, and IMO Buffalo has a better team than the Oilers right now. I'd expect Buffalo to finish 10+ point ahead of them in the standings.

I recognize that name. He's part of a very select class of 20-and-unders to be named to the NCAA All-Tournament team:
http://www.eliteprospects.com/awards...rnament%20Team
A few of the other guys recently named to that same list specifically as 20-and-unders ended up in the NHL - Brian Dumoulin, Jon Merill. You'll recognize Jack Eichel and a pair of Flames on this year's Team.

It'll be funny if Eichel ends up being the better NHLer.
He does look great so far while McSaviour has been middling.

I really wish McDavid didn't play for the Oilers since now I'll have to cheer against him and hope Eichel becomes the better NHLer. Heck, I wouldn't even be as upset if he was a Leaf, but he had to go to Edmonton. Hopefully he's out of that dump in 7 years and I can cheer for the guy after.

I think at that point McDavid will have too much oiler filth on him to be worthy of our cheers.
