Default Todd Ewen passes away

Another former tough guy. Sadly it looks like he took his own life

Remember back in the day hanging out at Three Cheers on Electric Avenue and running into Ewen and some of the other Canadiens, he was quite friendly, seemed like a pretty nice guy. very sad

Very sad. My boss was quite good friends with him, played a lot of hockey with him.

Ugh, so sad. He was a very nice man. Met him way back in his Habs days, very friendly and approachable. I remember he wrote a children's book back in the day. Seemed like a gentle giant. RIP, Todd.

Most of the NHL enforcer type guys are the best dudes you could meet. They're almost always humble and cool. The sad fact is most of them aren't just fighting on the ice, they're fighting mental demons and a lot of them turn to alcohol and drugs, recreational and painkillers, to help them through.

The fact that the enforcer seems to be almost out of the game is somewhat sad for those who hoped to make the NHL with their fists but it might just save some lives down the road.

RIP Todd.

It's pretty sad that NHL Enforcers seem to have a shelflife very similar to WWE wrestlers.
