Small, late bloomer, I think he actually was eligible for the draft in 2014 and was passed over. In any case it was good scouting to see his will/character to become a pro hockey player. and no doubt, he will be.

Starts at 9 (though they tend to hit the ice a few minutes before) and ends around 1:30, if it's the same as today.

Get used to seeing that line shutting down the other teams top line.

Don't think a pest is really him if you mean he wants to drive other players crazy and use cheapshots, but he looks to me like he has more of a Fleury type demeanor where he fights for every bit of ice and chirps like a bird to get it.

He (Mangiapane) and Kanzig got into a shoving match during the scrimmage and he didn't back down at all. Ballsy player for sure. Love the compete in him. He'll be a gamer that's for sure.

The reason he fell down so far and was skipped was because last year was the first time he did anything good and people weren't sure if it was a flash in the pan because that happens. It's different to take a risk on someone 6-2 if they show that flash, but a 5-8 to 5-10 guy, that's a whole different set of circumstances.

Poirier is having a rough go of it thus far. Nothing clicking yet for him. Colborne looks a lot faster, one of the fastest forwards today.

How is Billy Arnold looking?? He had a great prospect tourney IMO and I'm hoping he keeps the momentum going.

If you could let us know how Raymond is looking with Bennett and Hudler, it would be great. Raymond is being given a great opportunity to get his game back playing with those 2. If he can't take advantage, i see him eating a lot of popcorn this year followed with a buyout.

I think it's a pretty big stretch to think that they will still be together to start the regular season.

Even if Raymond is playing well and makes the opening night roster, that would be a tiny and soft line - can't see it happening.

We should probably wait for the first 20 or 30 cuts before we get too excited about who's playing with who.

Looks like Bob is doing the Forward pairs. Johnny and Monahan, so Hudler and Bennett? Makes sense as Bob uses Hudler as a chaperone for the young guys

Sorry my writing skills are horrible. My post came across as if that would be a line in regular season. I just meant that he is been given a chance to show off his skills during camp playing with players with some skill. Quite honestly i figured he would be starting on scrimmage lines with young players that didn't have much of a chance of making the roster. I personally don't see a fit for Raymond on a regular basis for this team.

I don't think any line withSam Bennett would be considered soft. If they are not talking about his speed or skill they talk about grit

@Fan960Wills: Sam Bennett and Jiri Hudler are playing together for a second straight day...they seem to have some chemistry. #Flames

@Fan960Steinberg: No Mason Raymond for Group C today, out with the flu. #Flames

@Fan960Steinberg: Hathaway back on the ice after missing yesterday with illness. Hiller good to return later on too, also sick yesterday. #Flames
