I'm certainly impressed with Trudeau tonight. If the vote was tomorrow I'd vote Liberal.

Aww, Harper realized that the world is a tough place. That doesn't give you a buy on the poor performance.

Harper seems to have lost touch with Canadians in regards to what their wants and needs are. He's been in power too long and seems to think he knows better.

Thought it was pretty funny Trudeau was hitting on Harper on only running a balanced budget in election years, then not 2 minutes later stated he was going to run a deficit until 2019, aka the next election.

Mulcair sucks at fakery. You can almost see the mask he puts on slipping around the edges as he speaks canned political mumbo jumbo.

Totally. Nothing he says is resonating at all. Looking more and more like an example of why you need to change politicians regularly, regardless of who they are.

Yeah I was just thinking that aloud to some very devote NDP'ers. I've voted Harper two elections in a row. Won't this time.

That's the definition of politician, say one thing and do another.

Harper has no leg to stand on with his treatment of veterans. Closing all those VA offices, that buffoon he had as Minister of Veterans Affairs, I have no respect for his handling of the whole mess.

+1. I find Mulcair scarier than Harper and that's more than a little disconcerting.

Totally agree that Trudeau has been great. He is definitely making me think of voting for him.
I don't understand all the negative comments on Mulcaire, though. I think he has been very specific and has nailed several points tonight. In fact, I think all three have had their moments. I do think Harper is probably the least strong this evening, but only because he has had to go on the defensive more than the others, and hasn't always been convincing.

Been impressed with Trudeau tonight. Harper hasn't been bad but not good, seems out of touch and almost uninterested. Mulcair comes off as fake and petty with some of his comments. Very much enjoyed the debate.

I'd like to see term limits for party leaders to make sure that parties don't get stale. Harper was quiet in this debate when compared to Trudeau. I get the impression that Harper feels his parties record is good enough to win the election.

He's justifying WHY he is spending the money. We don't elect governments to horde cash and turn profits. They have responsibilities...

Well, that was fun.
Trudeau the clear winner IMO. If anyone actually watched this (or enough people at least see the highlights on the news later) I would expect the next polls to show the Liberals out in front - Mulcair did nothing to retain left of center voters.
Harper and Mulcair both lost ground tonight.
I still have a hard time seeing Trudeau as PM, and still think he'd be an irritating guy to have a beer with, but that was a solid performance that should bring a lot of people around.
The deficit thing is a tour de force in a debate like that. The other two are stuck explaining how they're going to do all these lofty things (or in Harper's case, refrain from doing any lofty things) while balancing the budget. Trudeau can just say "yeah, we're going to spend the money."
And only one personal attack the whole time. Go Canada!
