Yeah, if he was a bit steadier and calmer, he'd be the clear winner of this debate so far.
Mulcair's "puff of smoke" joke probably went in Trudeau's favour too. Not smart Tom.

"Mulcairs promises are puffs of smoke"
"Well, you know a lot about that, Mr. Trudeau"

Home ownership may be up but so is the debt load of Canadians. Harper seems to not understand that many Canadians are house poor and that a rise in interest rates would cause a housing crash.

At first the "lightning round" pace of this debate annoyed me, but it sure keeps things moving along entertainingly.

Agreed. I like what he is saying, but delivery is not good.
The whole "Mr. Harper talks about..." before every rebuttal is getting annoying. It sounds too belligerent.
Personally, delivery has never mattered to me, but I think it is generally detrimental to the message.

Trudeau killed that "straight and honest" bit. Great answer to the budget deficit position, which was looking like a weakness for the Liberals coming in.
Though this transit thing seems a little small potatoes for the amount of airtime Trudeau's giving it.

Mulcair's sticking point doesn't appeal to me. I personally have no kids so the child care thing that is the headline of their platform doesn't fit.
Harper's lost touch with the grassroots. This doesn't sound like the Harper of the Reform party or his earlier reign of the CP's.
Trudeau although advocating running a deficit has sold me on their plan.
They've all hit their end. All it is now is repetitive banter.

Transit, transit, transit........ Trudeau is sounding like a parrot when he keeps repeating the same talking points.

Harper says the housing story in Canada is positive. Ya right! Maybe if you've owned one for 10+ years! Try telling that to the first time buyer!

Trudeau is clearly focusing on getting votes from the West and in particular Calgarians.

Yeah, hitting key points over again is a good strategy, but the transit one lacks both razzle and dazzle. He should refer to infrastructure more broadly if he's going to keep poking that button.

Does anyone care what Trudeau's first vote was 7 years ago Tom?
Pretty much no.
Mulcair's in 3rd place in this debate IMO.

This long election has basically saved the Liberals. The Conservatives had the whole Just not Ready stuff going... but the longer this goes on and Trudeau looks capable the Conservative messages loses its impact.
