We all have felt that way when we were young. Now you probably think you'll never hit 60 or 70.
Even David Bowie thought he would never hit 25 in All The Young Dudes.
If everything goes according to plan, life would be boring. I never though I would have kids one day but I do now and that's life.

I remember the ones where you had the clasp that fitted either side of the boot. I'm amazed anyone who used those perservered with skiing.

When you can remember the saying, "Life begins at 40", and 40 seems like eons ago.

I Got my learner's permit at 14 and my driver's license at 16. I'm 26 now and the thought of 16 year olds driving terrifies me. The notion that the government thought I was competent to operate a motor vehicle at age 14 is mind blowing.

I am 29. I felt old last night, laying in bed, and contemplating the big 3-0, but after reading this thread, I feel fine in the present, but at the margins is that nagging ominous cloud of mortality. Things will get better?

The fact that I can't read up close and and am looking at multifocal contacts... I thought this was going to be a gradual thing but cross the wrong side of 40 and it's like a GD switch.
That and health matters. Didn't go to a doctor for years but hit 40 and whammo - in there for all sorts of crap.
Did my warranty just expire or something?

The Transition from 20's to 30's was a good one, at least for me. You have more money, you're maturing, the hard parts of education and settling in in your career are over for many people. For many you take steps upwards in life in years 30-40.
Your 40's - responsibilities of family and obligations are in full swing. As I said above your health starts to go. You definitely feel more tired and old.
50's? God I don't want to know. I think I'll be like Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon 2 muttering about how I'm too old for this shinguard and trying to figure out a way to retire....
The fact I just made a LW2 reference makes me feel even older....

The fact that you have Hulse in your handle isn't do you any favors either.
I barely remember watching him play haha.

I am sorry that is complete Bullpoop. I am 43, and I feel good. I still play rugby and measure my fitness against men in the mid 20's. At 37 I learnt to skate and now play hockey 1-2 times a week.
"You definitely feel more tired and old" because you allow that to happen. Your 40's are not a death knell unless you allow them to become one.
Get the #### up and get active.

Is that actually you in your avatar? Because that is a picture of a man embracing his 40's.

Being active has nothing to do with being able to outrun the aging process.... You think your awesome fitness levels are going to help you outrun farsightedness and the need to have your prostate fingered up? ha!
That and sleep deprivation from a young family and the time obligations of that isn't helping me. You're single with no kids are you not?

i'm turning 34 in Oct.
Having 2 kids now (both under 3) is a reminder each and every waking moment of my life that i have exited any concept of youth and freedom .
This time of year is also a reminder, as all my big sports leagues start up, and you hear about the rookies and realize they weren't even born when you were in high school.

I thought I'd be terrified to turn 25 but for some reason, once it came around it didn't feel so scary. Turning 24 and having "25 as the next one" was scarier than actually turning 25.
Maybe it's also being around kids in their early 20's and not missing that at all. I feeling that 25-35 will be a fun time. More money, complete independence, plenty of energy... Yup.
Now I have 4 more birthdays before the next big one. I plan to either be a millionaire or dead by then so I'm not too worried.

I am aware that I can't stop the aging process, but I can do everything in my power to ###### the process.
I am not sure why it matters if I am single or not.

Being a sports fan is a bit of a blessing and a curse because you see guys that are in their mid to late 30s and they're passed it, lost a step, etc, but then you see 18 year old kids and that makes you feel old.
