I heard about this on Glenn Beck. From what I heard they were warned and the school lived up to their promise so no complaints on my end.

We always had students getting kicked out of class for screwing around with cell phones.

They knew the rules.

Also, our principal would often force people to change their shirts as many of them had profanity or naked people on them.

Same with the new high-tech calculators. I've seen many kids store information on there.

Too bad the teachers only clear the database for the final exams.

I was at a conference in San Diego this spring and the convention center had an Electro-magnetic scrambler (about the size of a dishwasher! dont ask me how it works...) in a large conference room, some tech company was testing it out to block cell signals from interupting lectures... seemed like a cool idea but instead of ringing distracting people the no service beepers on the phones was just about as bad!!

if the student is smart enough, not even a memory clear will remove the info with some of the operating systems you can put on them

not that i would ever partake in such unsavory activities

Baggy pants conceal a lot of things which is likely the reason for it. Weapons, drugs, etc.

I don't know how some guys wear such baggy pants. They wear it down half way their boxers. I don't mind these strict rules.

Haha ... I've had them go off in class before ... it makes me wonder what they are thinking. At our school they get taken away for an increasing amount of time with each offense ... and each time, they don't get their phone back until the parents come and pick it up.

Yeah, but it gets annoying. More time is spent on putting information into a calculator then doing homework.

Its funny when they fail the final exam though.

i could program my good ol TI-83 like a pro by the time i was finished highschool. for physics i had automated formulas for virtually everything (not cheating, just a time saver) and i finished the final exam with an A in half the time it took any other student to do it. then the teacher requested that i transfer all the programs to his calculator

They can conceal something else too! Although hiding that doesn't make a lot of sense! lol
