The "Tommunist" Manifesto pretty much seals the deal for me as not voting for the NDP. I guess I was already there, truthfully, but when you're seeking celebrity endorsements from people like Pamela Anderson I think that pretty much tells me everything I need to know about how ridiculous the policies are going to be.

We start from the premise that Canada is facing the deepest crisis in recent memory.

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission has acknowledged shocking details about the violence of Canada’s near past. Deepening poverty and inequality are a scar on the country’s present. And Canada’s record on climate change is a crime against humanity’s future.

These facts are all the more jarring because they depart so dramatically from our stated values: respect for Indigenous rights, internationalism, human rights, diversity, and environmental stewardship.

Canada is not this place today— but it could be.

For people who are supposed strong supporters of the NDP, I have no idea why someone who roll this out now. Well, I get that Lewis and Klein decided to roll it out for selfish reasons and to promote their documentary, but this is extremely weird from any sort of political standpoint. Just wow.

I always find it depressing that the one's who have already "got theirs" are pushing so hard to kill capitalism.

It's pretty easy to call for an overhaul of the economy when you're already sitting on millions of dollars.

How brave.

Its not the NDP is endorsing this thing, it is some people who support their party.

It says right in that article that former provincial Conservative cabinet member supports it as well.

I doubt I'm voting NDP but this has as much of an impact on my vote as the Conservative supporters who are against gay marriage.

No, but I doubt Mulcair and company are thrilled with the timing.

Agreed. Pretty easy to say "increase taxes on the rich" when most of them live in the States and that income would probably not be affected by that. What a joke that thing is.

Yeah, I don't get it. Why am I supposed to be concerned about a document penned by a bunch of flaky artists, actors, and musicians?

I'm confused. Wouldn't rich people asking for an increase of taxes on the rich be un-hypocritical?

(Yeah, I get the living in the US thing, but unless they converted to US citizens, which many do, but I do not think this list has, they still pay a bunch of taxes here anyway)

Yeah so they are supporting taxing themselves how its that hypocritical? I think they are very much aware that they are part of that income group. Anyways this wasn't endorsed by the party so I don't think it will affect NDP votes that much.

It will probably get the NDP votes if anything. Don't underestimate the level of celebrity worship that occurs, especially with the younger social media generation.

Nah, it's really once Drake signs it that the NDP are doomed. Every time Drake shows up to support something, it usually loses (see Serena Williams, The Raptors, Kentucky basketball, the Miami Heat, the Cleveland Cavaliers etc....)

Because its also penned by Stephen Lewis who campaigned for Mulcair last month, and a number of other NDP supporters. Its also of note that Lewis comments that this is basically an extension of their policies. Between that and star candidates saying the the oil might just have to stay in the ground, I've seen enough.

I have no idea why the wing nuts on either side decide that this is their time to surface. This isn't much different than what you might see from conservatives on the other side on different issues.

Another Conservative candidate has been kicked out, this time because he made a bunch of online racist remarks against Africans and women. Blair Dale in Newfoundland is no longer a candidate for that riding.

So far there have been 3 candidates kicked out and quite a few CPC members facing criminal charges. Is this just scratching the surface?

If we had an American length campaign the CPC might not have any candidates left by the end. This extended election has horribly backfired for them, if it were 5 weeks the election happens right after the surplus, now they have 5 more weeks to have bad candidates blow up in their face.
