The Visit actually seems to be getting some good advance reviews so maybe there's some hope. I think he's got incredible talent with creating atmosphere but has written some pretty terrible movies.

The Visit looks to be a box office home run.

Budget rumoured to be $5,000,000
Opening weekend past $25,000,000

Wow...Good for Mr. Shyamalan. Unfortunately this may just encourage more of his crap. For whatever reason he is gifted at making movies that suck but still attract an audience.

Love Kipling, grew up loving Disney's The Jungle Book, loved the terrible 90s Jungle Book with Cersei Lannister. I really want to see this.

(Not too thrilled about the voice casting, though)

The ending hooked me. Now that song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day... to youtube I go.

Yeah I loved, LOVED, the Disney Jungle Book growing up. IMO, one of the films that doesn't get the accolades it deserves.

Really? Murray, Elba, Kingsley, Walken, Johansson?

I'd say that's a damn fine voice cast. Particularly Murray as Baloo and Elba as Shere-Khan.

Not to mention I'd probably pay money to hear Scarlett Johansson read anything. Recipes. Textbooks. Pamphlets of hate speech. Anything.

Yeah, I should have said "some" of the voce cast.

I realize it's really early--and that what was presented in this teaser might not even be the final clip used in the film--but going strictly by the teaser, it sounded like Scarlett Johansen mailed-in her performance for Kaa.

And Murray wouldn't have been my first choice for Baloo.

But I reserve the right to change my opinion at any time.

My son is only 2 but I can't wait to watch that with him when the time comes. I'm glad they're modernizing the movies we grew up with. He's going to watch all the old school ones first though just to really appreciate them.

Disney is banking on this. Nostalgic parents taking their kids to the theatre. Make more money than just selling the Blu Rays of classic films.

I won't bring him to the theater to watch it, just watch it at home. I think it's just a great story, and my son loves animals.
