Default How do you feel about statues?

Many teams around the league have statues outside their buildings to honour the greats of their franchise. How would you feel about the Flames erecting statues in front of the Saddledome/Calgarynext, and what players/player should there be?

Lot of good memories of a lot of great players, but no one has done near enough to earn a statue.

Again: Self Evident Answer™ goes here.

Edit: Actually It should be Lanny AND Peter talking to each other. Yeah that would be epic.

If a 3 year Canuck coach can earn a statue by holding up a towel, then Lanny earned one ten times over

I don't know about players, but a Peter Maher statue would seem very appropriate.

I'm not sure I set the standard based on what the Canucks do though...

To me statues go to multiple cup winning superstars. Gretzky, Lemieux, Lidstrom, Howe etc.

It doesn't have to be a statue of an actual person. It could be abstract piece. I dunno... maybe a big red ring or something.

Lanny holding the Cup would make the cut IMO. And that would be it.

Although I do like the idea of a Peter Maher tribute.

Maybe we could work in Schlemko's goal too.

Personally, I don't want to live in the past. That statue should have been at the saddledome.

"Listen Carl, for the last time -- I don't care how many first overall picks you have in the lineup. Your blue line is horrible and your pillow soft forwards can't play defence. It's no surprise you've ruined every goalie you've brought in."

You can call it "E=NG".

I feel happy about statues.

Someone needs to build a Scorch statue in Glens Falls. I would pilgrimage there to bask in its infinite glory and wisdom.
