In a typical campaign writ period I would say no. But unfortunately for all of us there is still 39 days in this campaign, which has been the typical length of a normal writ period for the past 20 odd years. So even though it's the half way point, anything could happen over the next month.
Harper just hired Lynton Crosby to run his campaign. He got the conservatives elected in the UK and Australia but is most known for going on a foul mouthed racist rant against Muslims while working for the London Mayor.
Conservatives really doing their opponents a favour with all this crap. Can anyone remember a fed election where the optics are terrible all the way around? And not even surrounding platforms or actual issues?
Just waiting for a candidate to get caught with a dead hooker now.

That's crazy.
His staff also apparently engages in Wikipedia edit wars as a way of talking up his candidates and tearing down opponents. At one point, Wikipedia actually banned them from being able to make edits.

Interesting timing, given that Crosby was apparently involved in a wedge strategy in Australian elections where the government falsely claimed that asylum-seekers were throwing children overboard in an attempt to gain asylum. Will the Conservatives attempt to use the current Syrian refugee crisis as their own wedge issue?
(I don't actually know anything about this, just wikipedia-ing it.)

Don't be surprised if they do. That is just the kind of thing this guy is known for.
It was only 12,000 years ago, or less and this should be considered, in all those years the so called First Nations:
– never “discovered” the wheel
– never had a written language
– never discovered astronomy
– had no science or scientific discoveries
– had no mathematics
– made no medical discoveries
– never had written music
– only “figured out” a drum and a rattle for musical instruments
– had no metallurgy
– had no sails for boats (only had canoes)
– created virtually no mechanical devices
– possessed almost nothing that required hard manual labour over a period of time, ie. building with or carving out of stone
– made almost no inventions
– are just in the last 200 years getting caught up to most of the rest of the world
– have a history that is notable only for underachievement. Are these people in trouble? Yes.
Do they need help? Yes.
Are they responsible enough to look after themselves and efficiently spend the billions the taxpayers give them? Certainly not.
The long election campaign was pretty much the worst thing the CPC could've asked for.

This is a little misleading. He did not write the above. He was the editor of a paper that published this letter to the editor. Read the link and it's not as bad as this post makes it out to be.
Is he racist? Yes but more from the I'm sick of paying for a broken system then from an Indians are stupid standpoint.
I'm all for abolishing the reserve system and making all first nation members regular Canadian citizens (it's far past due), but there's no reason to go on a tirade about their culture

The new Liberal ad with Trudeau on the escalator is dead simple, but it's quite effective in that I don't feel the need to change the channel when it comes on unlike any of the conservative ads

Pretty amusing that the Conservative supporters on this board complain about the anti-Catholic rants of the NDP Director of Communications saying he should be sacked, and then the very next day the Conservatives go and hire a guy with a known anti-Muslim comment and the originator of dog whistle politics as their campaign strategist.

So...then both situations are just fine is that what you're saying?
I didn't say either was wrong or right. I was pointing out the humour in calling for the sacking of a guy, only for their party to go ahead and hire someone with similar issues.
EDIT: To be consistent, Conservative supporters should be calling for his head though, right?

So the NDP is every bit as hate filled and bigoted as the CPC, they just each have different targets?
I expect you are right. I say fire them all.
Justin is ready
