I've never heard of an outdoor concert getting canceled, but yeah, they canceled X-Fest. People must be choked.

Maybe some stranded bands will put on impromptu shows tonight. Watch Twitter

Maybe Max Bell or the Corrall should have been on back-up.

Worth a shot. We are a couple blocks away and are gonna come down and check it out. I'm a little choked because I paid $120 for my xfest ticket on kijiji and now someone else is getting the refund and I'm out some cash.

Looks like the bands scheduled to play xfest are not allowed to play any other venues. RAA and Tokyo Police Club both confirmed this. So I doubt Tenacious D will be, but who knows. There are other bands playing at the Ship, it's relatively packed in there, but there's still room.

Edit:

Looks like it's x-fest's fault, what a bunch of dbags.

.@Crackmacs @XFestCalgary @X929 @UnionEventsWest is enforcing their non-compete clause. Bands can't play for free anywhere~ @Ship_and_Anchor

Sooo Brutal. this could have been a way to make something positive out of this, but fun shut down by "The Man"

Would have loved to see the Eagles Of Death Metal at the Trap and Gill!

Had to laugh at the news story about fest being cancelled. Concert goers frustrated that they spent money on hotels rooms and whatnot. to me that is always the gamble with outdoor shows.

It is no fun standing all day in the rain and mud to watch a show.

Sucks that union events is squashing what could have been a really cool night of music around this city.

Nite Owl has Madball playing upstairs tonight if anyone is looking for something else to do.

Yup. I kinda wish the cancelled Mad Decent. I had a decent time and the acts themselves we're awesome, but man did the rain put a damper on things. I'm over outdoor shows. Why risk it?

I need to see Odesza again!

Calgary's first Roots Music Festival (isn't Folk Fest roots music?):

http://www.widecutweekend.com/

Oct 15-17

There are five venues in our inaugural festival: Ironwood Stage, Wine-Ohs Cellar, Mikey's, The Number 1 Legion, and the Nite Owl (downstairs)

Would love it if we got a few cool acts in for this. I can't see any artists yet, hopefully will be announced soon

Has anyone ever attended the Life is Beautiful festival in LV?
I'm going to be down there that weekend and wanted to know if anyone could share their experiences? What's good? Bad? Tips?
