2 Saddledome
3 Parc de Princes - Paris
Wish I'd been to more - I love sports stadiums, especially older grounds and stadiums with history, I've not been a big fan of the couple newer football and baseball stadiums in the States I've visited, so so nice but a little sterile and souless. Always wanted to do a fall tour of Europe and visit a dozen or so classic soccer stadiums, fenway would be amazing to visit. Too bad all our historic stadiums in the NHL got demolished in the name of profit as I always wanted to see a game in the old forum and at old chicago stadium as well.

Well like most people I haven't been to enough to be able to fairly judge. The best stadiums in my opinion are ones where you feel a part of the city you're in, which is most easily reinforced by having a view of something cool outside the stadium. So the three best I've been to are:
1. Newlands Stadium, Cape Town (how beautiful is that?)

2. Skydome, Toronto (with the roof open)
3. US Cellular Park (Comiskey Park, as it then was), Chicago
The other ones I've been to are: McMahon Stadium, Calgary; Gottlieb Daimler Stadium, Stuttgart; Telstra Stadium, Sydney. I've been outside of plenty more stadiums, but that doesn't count. Also not counting college/amateur stadia.
While not a stadium but an arena, I also love Madison Square Garden in New York. It has a sort of un-New York, dingy, retro feel to it that contrasts with the super-bright modern arenas (such as the ACC and Corel Centre/whatever-its-called-now).

Hmmmm, intersting thread....
Comerica Park (Tigers home digs)
University of Michigan (116,000 football fans? Hell ya)
Air Canada Centre is quite nice
Joe Louis
....but the Dome is the best for hockey! (wonder why?)

I haven't been to that many..
-Saddledome for obvious reasons
-Highbury - former home of Arsenal, English Premeirship Soccer. A beautiful pitch and and close atmosphere between the players and the fans. This will change in their newer, bigger state of the art facility.

I'd rank the buildings I've seen events in like this:
Staples Center, Los Angeles
Safeco Field, Seattle
Chase Field (then Bank One Ballpark), Phoenix
Air Canada Centre, Toronto
Arrowhead Pond, Anaheim
Saddledome, Calgary
TD Waterhouse Center, Orlando
McMahon Stadium, Calgary
Skydome, Toronto
Rexall Place (then Edmonton Colesium), Edmonton
Tropicana Field, Tampa

^You liked ACC? I found that building to be completely bland and lifeless.

Except for the stupid railings in front of the seats, I thought it was a nice building. I went to a Rock game, so the atmosphere was probably quite a bit different than a Leafs game.
Skydome was bland and boring. Rexall was a hole and even it was better than the disaster that is Tropicana Field. I can't imagine what it would have been like to watch a hockey game there.

Fenway Park is my favorite.
Skydome is the worst. That stadium sure didn't stand the test of time. I preferred the Big O to it, even. Probably a big reason people stopped going to Jays games. No one wants to spend a nice summer afternoon/evening there.

I thought it was a nice building..... for basketball. The sightlines for hockey are probably the worst of the new buildings I've been in. Maybe the Staples Centre is as bad but Staples Centre is a far more impressive building.
I thought the Arrowhead Pond, or whatever they're calling it now, was a far better building for hockey then either the ACC or Staples Centre.

I would gladly spend a nice summer afternoon/evening at the Skydome, with the roof open, staring up at the CN Tower and a warm breeze filtering through. There are few better things to do in Toronto than that.
