Maybe just maybe it has to do with a church that constantly tells their membership that certain people are evil or immoral while this age group thinks to themselves "umm Adam and Steve are fantastic people that I've known my whole life...."
I'd say Bill has lost his mind, but his ratings are at an all-time high right now. I guess he's finally figured out pandering to Evangelicals is the way to go in America.

It's that awful rap music I tells ya. Back in my day we had great upstanding citizens like Elvis Presley not these drug laden....oh crap.
But this is Bill O'reilly and Fox news. Rap music is likely simply a code for Black and/or non-white
A bit surprised that one of the most progressive mayors around would even consider doing this, but I'm kind of meh on it. Not dissimilar to "god keep our land glorious and free" or my golf buddies ritualistically jagertoasting the golf gods at every turn.
Can you imagine if he did it on his own instead of letting the Supreme Court ruling make his life easier? There were enough crazy people barking about him being a Muslim when he got into office. Imagine how loud they'd be if he took prayer out of council. "ERMAGHERD, Christian persecution!"

Yeah, but Elvis and Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard and the rest of them... those were just boys being boys! And don't forget Carl Perkins (I mean Jerry Lee Lewis!) ... now that guy had traditional family values. He married his 13 year-old cousin! Sounds like something right out of the bible, come to think of it.

Pretty much. They aren't even really using the dog whistles any more.
The funny thing is that he's basically saying that in the last ~decade or so, this not-so-long-ago obscure musical genre is bringing down the "foundation of western society".

I actually think this story is a preview of the new way to relieve gullible Christians of their money: Take up an anti-social cause with a hard religious stance, claim only God judges, then collect donations from those who want you to "fight back", except I think she's gonna pocket all this cash herself and those people will be giving her money for nothing.
Oh, and she's been married 4 times....
Quote:
A county clerk in Kentucky has again refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, invoking her religious beliefs and "God's authority" — this time in defiance of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling against her.
On Tuesday morning, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis remained in her office, door and blinds closed, as the first licenses were denied. But she emerged just a few minutes later, telling the couples and activists gathered there that her office still won't issue licenses "under God's authority."
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to intervene in the case, leaving Davis no legal grounds to refuse to grant the licenses. A district judge could now hold her in contempt of court, which can carry steep fines or jail time.
But lawyers for the two gay couples who originally sued in the case said in a motion Tuesday that they want Davis punished with only financial penalties — no jail time.
The motion to U.S. District Judge David Bunning says the couples "regrettably" seek to hold the clerk in contempt but "do not seek to compel Davis' compliance through incarceration."
Bunning will probably hold a hearing for the couples to present evidence, which could include testimony from Davis.
Sometimes I like to check in on this thread. Just to remind myself as to why I stopped being the village atheist, and moved on to more enjoyable things.

I enjoy learning new things and discussing different perspectives. To each his/her own.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
