Meaning once people get over range anxiety, they realize it's not an issue

For starters, how would any electric vehicle determine if the fuel used to produce electricity was renewable? Impossible.
Have you paid attention to Calgary Transit's power-sourcing model (he asks, 7 weeks later)? While technically true that we can't isolate the source of any given joule of energy, routing their cash to a renewable grid-supplier seems like a pretty fair way to say that they're using only renewable power.

Just like people who are "predisposed" to buying an SUV or sedan or sports car. Go check out the loyalty numbers in those situations they are rarely approaching 90%. The take away is once you free yourself from gasoline you don't want to go back, how is this a bad thing?

.....Also you didn't comprehend the article or you didn't read it at all.

wasn't commenting on the article or i would have quoted it.

Given the number of Teslas sold it appears 99% of gas powered vehicle drivers are looking to buy a gas power vehicle as their next vehicle. (no math or science was done in the preparation of those numbers)

Your comparison of electric car loyalty vs brand loyalty is bupkis science at best, completely different motivations behind purchasing decisions there.

Don't get me wrong electric cars are the way of the future and if i needed a daily driver for my personal life I'd look into them(though i think they'd be out of my price range). I rent cars for long road trips anyways so having a electric wouldn't be a issue. But if you frequently make trips of 3/4s or more of a Teslas range then a Tesla isn't really the best choice.

It still isn't a "gimmick" as you called it.

Technically you can charge it faster then filling up a gas tank. To bad no one took advantage of the program while it existed.

So for the armchair transit planners and armchair engineers and anyone else interested in commercial electric vehicles, I found the report for St Albert's electric bus decision. It is full of juicy details ....

BTW Alberta GreenTRIP announced it's first grant for Round two funding: St Albert is going for electric buses.
