Pfft, everybody knows the only true way to deadlift is while standing on a pile of miscellaneous Lego pieces.

That's for amateurs. Bouma does it on broken glass with no shoes.

In his RDL's his stance is far too wide and he's using a mixed grip which is also wrong. Also he's extending his lower back at the end which is dangerous for an exercise that is used to strengthen the lower back.

Lots of trainers don't know what the hell they're doing. Especially ones with major league teams because they get to work with the best of the best athletically. As long as they don't injure the athletes they can do no wrong.

I literally laughed out loud reading this. You take yourself (and the gym) way too seriously. You made my day though, so thank you.

Good grief. My lift with the knees comment was a joke. Not funny obviously. My point was that gio and his core to be precise is in pretty decent shape.

Lost in all this weight lifting talk is the miracle recovery powder Giordano was taking after his injury.

I'm more concerned about the fact that Gio only appears to be wearing one sock...

There are actually a bunch of videos -- looks like he's been training with Jooris in Mississauga over the summer: https://instagram.com/jkeatz33/

It's nice to see Giordano and Jooris carrying on the Iginla tradition of coming to camp in top shape.

Awesome videos, it's great seeing a couple of undrafted guys work hard throughout the summer. I'm sure Gio is a huge inspiration for Jooris.

Pretty good deal. Just under budget for what his position is expected to be paid in a $70M dollar matrix scenario. Treliving continues to negotiate solid deals. Will have to continue to keep the keys vets on the team and all the youth together. Gio is a major part of the culture in Calgary and worth keeping. Next up is Mr. Hudler.

I love seeing the "normals" in the background walking on the treadmill, lift little weights, get water etc. Could be me.

Hudler is definitely an interesting situation. Especially now that gio is locked up till retirement.

I'm sure many cp'ers will want treliving to walk away from Hudler and trade him at the deadline. But the team is waaaay better with him here.

Ask yourself this, who doesn't have crazy good chemistry with Hudler? His line-mates naturally do, but also brodie in particular. He's our team's WiFi network.

@CoachsCornerCBC: 4) there`s no question the Flames, with Dennis Wideman (15g, 41a, +6), TJ Brodie (11g, 30a +15), Kris Russell (4g, 30a, team leading +18

@CoachsCornerCBC: 5) and now add 6`5`` Dougie Hamilton (10g 32a) have by far the best defence in the League. P.S Don`t forget one of my favourites,

@CoachsCornerCBC: 6) Deryk Engelland, even if he doesn`t know how to spell Deryk right.
Just quoting this again to get off the dead lift topic

I think it's now up to Hudler if he wants to remain a Flame. Treliving is only going to offer him a team-friendly contract. It'll be up to Hudler if he wants to chase money, or stay and be a part of the thing he helped create.
