I bought half a dozen Anker brand lightning cables (http://www.amazon.ca/Certified-Anker.../dp/B00K4VQZCM) and just left them all over the place. I've got some at the office, each of our vehicles, in my laptop bag, various places in the house. They were cheap, good quality, and now we're never hunting around for a charger or worried about bringing a cable along with us.

On a related note, I also bought an Anker portable battery charger thing (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...GEMT2DX5TD9G3J) that was pretty cheap and has saved my bacon on a few occasions.

Emptying the canister is also rewarding as you get to see how much work that thing really is doing! (
The robot duster/mopper is fantastic on hardwood.

A couple years ago I took my two electric guitars into Long and McQuade to get serviced. One was an Ibanez AS83 hollowbody and the other a Gibson Blueshawk. The guys said it would be about 20 minutes to look them over and see what needed to be done so I looked around the store and came across a used Gretsch Electromatic with the Bigsby vibrato bar, which is something I always wanted to add to my Ibanez. It was listed at $400 down from $700 purely because it had a loonie-sized chip in the finish on the back of the body (who cares?). I took it into a room and played it for about 10 minutes and decided I needed this guitar, but at the time I was a poor student and have 2 electrics was excessive enough. We had a show coming up and now I really wanted to use this guitar, so I asked an employee if there was an option to rent it for a couple weeks to see if I like it. He said they don't really do that, but have a 30-day return policy, so I could buy it right there and return it if I didn't like it. Perfect!

I bought it, took it home, used it for show and loved it. I sold my Ibanez to a father looking to get an electric guitar for his 11 year old son for $400 a few days later. (probably could have got more, but just wanted to break even as quickly as possible). So not only did I essentially get a new guitar for free, I got to pass on the music to a young kid. I'll admit though, watching that guy walk away with what was the first guitar I ever bought for myself when I was 16, and the one I most used, was pretty emotional.

But I turned this...

into this...

and haven't regretted it once. I like things that are unique and Gretsch doesn't make a lot of solid body guitars.

I would like to add that I have a Roomba Pet version and many of my nights are filled with a)the sound of the Roomba starting up at 1am (which sometimes scares me s***less on weekends when I'm up that late), followed 30 seconds later by b)DEE DOO DEE ERROR! Please open cage and clean brushes!

There have maybe been 2 or three times it hasn't done that. Upon opening it, there's hair, but doesn't seem like enough to be clogging anything.

OMG. I bought the single version before I saw the double and was so pissed. I always make myself 2 at a time, but I have to wait until the first one is done. And mine doesn't have a timer either. I use my watch.

I had the single also, gave it to my mom, when I saw the double on sale at Walmart.

We have the single one and now regret not buying the double. We use ours almost everyday.

My cheapo convection oven I bought from Canadian Tire. Think I paid $40 for it when it went on sale, but I use it more than any other appliance. Helps reduce energy costs as I cook for myself only, so it's a waste using the full oven to bake a couple chicken breasts or pork tenderloins.

I'm admittedly intrigued by the love for the double breakfast sandwich maker.

Unfortunately, I'd probably end up gaining 20 pounds if I actually used it all the time so perhaps that is one I should pass on...

It's not that bad. You can use a whole grain muffin, an egg, forgo the cheese, and use ham instead of sausage. Not the worst thing, yet still tasty and filling.

mail order bride.

Netflix. My 2 year old is hooked on Paw Patrol and I'm pretty sure he could get hit by a truck and would stop crying if you put that on. It really is great when you think about how much you get for how little.

Yeah, I'd put Netflix on the list as well. Saves me a buttload of money vs cable.

Internet, seriously important

My best purchase was my $700 Pathfinder years ago. Fun to drive, still not showing any signs of slowing down and isn't too bad on gas
