This thread is waste. just lock it until something of substance happens. right now, there's a pointless discussion of bite marks going on. ridiculous.

I came back in here thinking something of substance happened!

Kane was questioned by the police at his lawyer's officer per the Buffalo News:

That was a risky decision by Kane.

Haven't popped into this thread in a while. Without reading the last 20 pages, what's going on? Any news? Still talking rape?

Isn't a few bruises and the victims word enough for at least charges to be laid? I understand if there's no evidence it might be a slam dunk during court but shouldn't there still be the trial?

Ugh though, onto the civil case. I hate that, the criminal case would have shed much more light on the situation. The civil will inevitably end with a non disclosure agreement.

The DA for the case has something like a 98% win rate. And plans to run for the NY Supreme Court this or next year. I read an article saying that charges wouldn't be laid unless it's a slam dunk essentially. Losing a big public case like this would damage his career aspirations. Can't seem to find the article though.

His lawyer is not Saul Goodman:

Getz: [Interrogating Badger] Hey, I'm trying to help ya here, man. Now, if you just tell me who your supplier is, I think this can end very well for you.
Saul Goodman: EHHHHH! Whaddya doin' Detective? What're you doin' talkin' to my client without me present? You Sneaky Pete! Which is which? What'd the academy hire you right outta the womb? You guys get younger every...
Saul Goodman: [Turning to Badger]
Saul Goodman: What'd you say to Babyface? Huh? Didja say anything stupid? And by "anything stupid" I mean anything at all!

Elected DAs seem problematic all-around. Prosecutors can also be incentivised to pursue flimsy but popular charges.

This site appreantly is always under fire for being satiry even tho yhe claim they are not. Somone commented on twitter about them and they replied that all the other news sitesare reporting this aswell . The thing is no other news sites are not doing so. The latest news on reputable sites are saying it is most likely going to take months as of only a few hours ago.

After alot of digging around about the site I would take it as a huge grain of salt.

This article chats about the DA. Doesn't seem like the one I was reading previously though.

Perhaps the NY state authorities are considering a lesser charge than rape.

Haha so there's not enough proof to substantiate rape charges (a very serious, life ruining charge) and the first reaction is disappointment?

"He has to be guilty of something! Come on!!!"

Just cause there's not enough to lay charges doesn't mean that the DA is being a scumbag trying to protect his reputation. It could very well mean that, you know... Kane is completely innocent and there is not enough evidence to lay charges?

No, an accusers word is not enough. Also, stop calling them a "victim". There has been no evidence of a crime.

This is exactly why rape accusations need to be kept private as much as possible.

Problem with rape cases. Unless it was a brutal and violent rape there really is no evidence.

Should be seen before a jury that knows all the facts though.

If there's no charge, I wonder if the police investigate the accuser now.
