Well, the article is not at all what you try and portray it as (not surprising). The guy says that he didn't think capturing two soldiers would lead to war, and I think most people would agree. By the sounds of it, the kidnappings were aimed at a prisoner swap. Israel went off the deep end, which Hizbollah did not think would happen. Sounds like both sides want the peace to last and negotiate. Quite different from what you try and lead people to believe.

Do you really believe that?

If you take the guy at his word, yes. I wouldn't trust him any more than I would trust the Israelis, and vice versa, but I am willing to give the guy a change to prove he's not full of crap. It takes two to tango and two to war, so neither party is completely trust worthy in this particular instance. Both sides have to show they are willing to negotiate and this is at least a promising start.

Who was that Roman guy? Tacitus? The guy who said a bad peace is even worse than a war...
This whole thing will blow up again in 8 months.

Nice using one the of the greatest Roman Historians from the Antiquties (sp?) era to back your argument.
Your my hero now.
Among his other sayings that are relevant to this discussion
Abuse if you slight it, will gradually die away; but if you show yourself irritated, you will be thought to have deserved it.
All enterprises that are entered into with indiscreet zeal may be pursued with great vigor at first, but are sure to collapse in the end.
He that fights and runs away, May turn and fight another day; But he that is in battle slain, Will never rise to fight again.
It belongs to human nature to hate those you have injured

The problem is he has also been quoted as saying he wants to exterminate the Jews (co YouTube).
So as per you, he wants peace and he wants to exterminate the Jews (if you take him at his word always or only when its convienient). Well one would definately lead to peace.
EDIT: added (if you take him at his word always or only when its convienient) to make it clear that Lanny didnt mention the second point).

That it could. The Israeli PM pledged to "continue pursuing [Hezbollah] everywhere at all times."

Which is so evident in the way he is rounding up the Jews living in Iran and sending them to concentration camps and murdering them for their religious beliefs.
You know, people love to talk a lot about insults and such, but no one ever considers the insult to the intelligence of people who use their brains, that some of these posts make. If the guy was out to exterminate Jews he would start in his own backyard, no? And YouTube as a source? Oh boy.

The Final Solution started up as an idea too. The Nazis weren't exterminating the Jews on an industrial scale until the early 1940s. Just because wide-scale genocide hasn't occured, doesn't mean it won't. Jews in Iran aren't exactly living the good life right now either.

Isn't Iran making it mandatory for Jews and Christians to wear colored ID tags now.
Sure makes it easy for the secret police to grab them on the street.

Apparently this may be just a rumour created by pro-monarchy refugees from Iran.

This quote is a perfect illustration of the pervasiveness of misinformation from north american mass media. The story was completely uncorroborated, but the huge front page story has already done the damage needed to soften up the opinion of the masses about the threat Iran poses to world peace. This is exactly the same treatment Iraq received for a year prior to the invasion.
There's no question that Jews are discriminated against in an oppressive Muslim country, much in the same way other religions are aswell. No one would dare suggest that kind of treatment is warranted. However, spreading lies regarding their treatment (aka armbands) only worsens the situation for everyone.

So he captures and kills Israeli people and he didn't expect them to retaliate?
I think Hezbollah may be in dire need of a coup de tat.
