3/4 of men and 2/3 of women WOULD cheat if they knew they couldn't get caught? That's the most telling stat to me. And it tells me that there are a lot of people surrounding this Ashley Madison issue that need to get off their high horses.

That's what they claim but apparently the hackers have disclosed that 90-95% of the clients are men and the majority of the women are all bots so they have probably created a boat load of bots for every city to entice males into paying to message women that don't exist. It's probably a good thing this has happened as I don't know how these types of websites get away with misleading customers.

Ever notice how you get a message from someone way out of your league, right after you unsubscribe from a dating site?

A book I just picked up on the subject:

Tinder Advice from Aziz Ansari

http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/20...-dating-advice

We were meeting to discuss his first book, Modern Romance (for which he received a reported $3.5 million advance), written with the sociologist Eric Klinenberg and published this month by Penguin Press. It’s an unexpectedly serious work about the challenges and pitfalls of looking for love in the Digital Age via Match.com, OkCupid, Tinder, Twitter, Facebook—the whole techno shebang.

He writes in Modern Romance that technology has turned his generation into “the rudest, flakiest people ever.”

We’ve become souls divided, he maintains, between the real self and the cell-phone self. And we get ourselves wrong!

And most of all Jesus?

Jesus is probably somewhere saying "Hey mate, leave me out of this"

Eff! I checked my e-mail and it's in the database...and I can guarantee I've never signed up for Ashley Madison. I'd sign up on Oilerfans.com before Ashley Madison...yuk

Yeah that could be a problem for some people. I read somewhere that Ashley Madison doesn't verify the e-mail address used to create accounts, so technically someone could sign up using another person's e-mail address.

Yeah, and being an early adopter of gmail, I have my name, no periods or numbers, so if there is another John Doe out there, but he has JohnDoe2 @ gmail and mistypes it or something, then I get added.

I know some tool in Seattle used my e-mail to register his Nissan two years ago, and no matter how often I've messaged the dealership to get my name off the list, I still get reminded every time he takes the damn thing in for service.

The same company owns a couple of other sites that would still be in the database. You seem like a Cougar Life kinda guy to me.

I'm pretty disappointed in the media coverage. All this stuff about how many email addresses from certain companies, cities, etc. Just garbage.
Do people not realize that while this may seem find and dandy because of this site, that celebrating these criminals is just making it seem more acceptable.
Do any of us really want all of our digital footprint and online transactions exposed to the public?
I always defend the media for covering and this is a story. But taking part in the exposure of this information is just garbage.

I have an email address like that and get all sorts of stuff for someone with the same name as me - I think his address just has an underscore at the end that he/others keep forgetting. Including being signed up for some UK senior's dating site. Not on Ashley Madison though.

Yeah the disclosure of some of this info by the media is troubling. Some of the email addresses noted above are private businesses for crying out loud.
