Missed opportunity IMO. Probably Sunalta NIMBYs raising a stink.

"renderings"

To me this seems to be akin to the set up in Phoenix.

There are lots of places to eat/drink there.

I guess time will tell, no?

I am almost curious as a possibility that after let's say a Flames game, the Field house could host a party like that.

I think the City would be better off without a cluster of cookie cutter franchise restaurants and bars.

TSN the Restaurant?

There were people who complained about the change in our broadcast team from Kerr/Simmer to Ball/Hrudey. Some people will always hate change

The powerpoint uses talking points from several Nenshi speeches about community development. If I didn't know better I'd say his own staff made the thing.

Calling it an "Event Centre" as opposed to some take on a hockey rink is subtle but carries on in the same vein, trying to make it a community project not a place for billionaires to hire millionaires to play in front of other millionaires.

Agreed, "not going to red mile this" sort of scares me in what he's implying. Moxies, Chilis, Buffalo Wild Wings galore?

Kinda fuzzy, but does that say 1500 parking spaces?

How many does the dome have around it?

Exactly. These stadium projects are notorious for going over budget (often far over).

Does that cost include the remediation? Cause then this is more like a $1.4 billion project
