Live in Chestermere, work downtown. Route is Hwy 1/16th Ave > Barlow > Memorial > 4th Ave. On a light traffic day like this morning it's 30 minutes from parking spot to parking spot, if memorial is jammed it's 35-40 minutes

About 20 minutes each way. Ironically, Deerfoot is the best route to work. But I avoid it like the plague on the drive home.

- Hillhurst to 1st SW and 4th Ave, about 3.3 km one way.
- Via residential streets to the pathway to 1st SW.
- Biking year round, snow be damned.
- 12 to 15 minutes depending on snow.
- BRT it in if I don't ride in / home that day (ie go to a Flames game)
- No cost, I decline my "free" (yet taxable) parking at work.

Default What's your commute?

Renfrew to the Greenview Industrial park. 10 minute drive, 20 minute bike.

When I drive I take 6th street along Calgary Elks Golf course. Riding I take the nose creek path.. Along Calgary Elks..

From Canyon Meadows to the Beltline it's about 25-30 minutes on the mornings I carpool with my wife. On transit it's a good 45 minutes.

I honestly kinda hate it, really wish we could afford something closer to the inner city. I used to live in Glenmorgan/Killarney area and I miss the hell out of it.

It depends on what garage I am working out of. If I am out of Anderson, 25-35 mins, out of Oliver Bowen 25. Then usually another 10-15 mins to walk/ride the train to an end terminal and then I have the pleasure of driving you LRT riders home.

For pics, its just a plain white cargo van (yeah don't worry, I never park residential). The inside has a bed, thetford curve toilet, propanex propane heater, sit down shower stall, sink, counter, closet, good insulation, vent, shelves for storage, lights, excellent electrical and the floors and walls were outfitted with helicopter interior lino and fabrics. While I can eat of it, I rarely do. Use it mostly for sleeping at the end of a long work day. I usually work a couple of shorter workdays from home each week. Van was 8k, outfitting about 12k, time it took to build about 50 days. Insulation and installing the bulkhead was the worst. Been living like this for two years now. It is comfortable between -33 and +28. Colder and my propane freezes, hotter than +28 and it gets hard to sleep.

I started out with just a bare shell, sleeping bag and a jug to piss in. It took an anxious two months to get it ready for winter on time off. Now its pretty pimped out and I hardly touch it. Adding pieces as I went was pretty effective. It helped me figure out through trial and error what arrangements worked best. Designing it from the ground up in one go would have left me with many things I didn't actually need.

Wish I had it when I was younger for traveling. Just living out of it and going to the office day to day is a pretty boring story.
That sounds so awesome...thanks for telling us about it.

Having just finished the move to my new place, my commute will turn into a 20 minute leisurely walk instead of the 20-120 minute drive it used to be. Gotta say, I'm pretty excited about the change.

Walking takes 20-25 minutes.
Driving takes 10-15 minutes.
And because of work attire, I don't bike as much anymore, but takes me about 10 minutes.

Drive. Anywhere from 1-2 hours each way depending on where I'm working. SW Calgary to Olds, Sundre, Lacombe, Drumheller, Hanna, Three Hills, Linden.

Bedroom to kitchen, make coffee, kitchen to living room/office. Getting the Kuerig a couple of years ago has really saved me a lot of time.

If you can shave 1 car from your household by living somewhere more walkable that's about $150,000 more in mortgage you an afford. That's the choice we made (1 car household vs 2 or more for many people) to afford to live in latte land.

I walk from 17th down 5th St everyday to take the train two stops. The construction is ridiculous. Half the sidewalks closed, the tail end of the bike lanes apparently forever closed. It's a mess but feel worse for the drivers. Am contemplating biking but for the distance I imagine my walking there is just as good

I am the only car on the road at 4:30 in the morning. Drive takes about 5 minutes and because it's so god-forsakenly early I always get the best parking spot. That might not sound impressive but I work at an international airport. On the way home in the winter the roads are jammed up with skiers coming back to town so it's about 10 minutes to get home. In the offseason and summer the roads run a lot smoother.

It's about a 25 minute bike ride for me. 45 minutes by metro. 30 minutes by taxi.

Biking is also by far the most enjoyable.

Harvest Hills to Southland Drive. I work stupidly early so it only takes 25 minutes to drive it. I bike at least once a week, that's an hour (one way). Transit would take days.
