I don't think there's anything irrational about being concerned over how a party might influence the industry that you work in. Seems pretty normal to me.

That's me talking about my and others decision to continue to vote conservative for fear of the alternative. Here's my results for alignment with the conservatives and the alternatives.
NDP - 95%
Liberal - 91%
Green - 91%
Communist - 86%
Bloc Quebecois - 66%
Libertarian - 61% Conservative - 13%
Christian Heritage - 6%
I can't imagine many people had conservatives as they're highest alignment. You'd have to be nuts to answer enough of those questions in favor of the conservative's policies to make them the highest.
Had to re-do the survey when i saw there were more questions.
Not great wording on question on involvement to stop ISIS.
I'm all for stopping ISIS, but the question didn't ask that. It asked if I supported more troops in Iraq, which could be interpreted in different ways. Too vague.
A few of the other questions didn't have answers squarely aligned with my own. For the environmental law question, my position is that we don't really need new laws - we should actually start enforcing the ones we already have. You can put all the new laws you want, but if you keep the enforcement resources at their current levels, it won't matter. That wasn't a choice.
Apparently I agree with the NDP on social issues like doctor assisted suicide, but Convservatives with most else.

So what I'm seeing here is the Conservative's policies are so out of wack that most people would not be voting for them. Either that or there are a lot of left leaning voters on this board.
It's probably the result of inaccurately weighting the importance of of each policy. For many of us, things like opposition to pipelines or bill C-51 matter significantly more than something like the 1st degree murder parole policy. The poll or the posters may not weigh the big issues enough.

I got 13% conservative and I'm honestly racking my brain to figure out what questions people could possibly be agreeing with them on to get +30% results.
Hell I can't even see how one could get over 13%, haha.
EDIT: Yeah, the weighting probably has a lot to do with it.

There are options for each question you can select to weigh your answer where it says "how important is this to you" It's not totally obvious. I suspect (or would hope) this plays into the results.

This is what makes politics such a dynamic discussion. There is no such thing as the inaccurate weighting of policies by an individual. The importance/weighting of each policy, and/or what is considered a big issue, is going to be unique for every individual.
Actually I believe the Liberals have promised to restore door to door mail delivery too. They're all just as bad when it comes to those games.
Damn it,
I just want to vote for someone who follows evidence based policies and then gets data to see if the said policies are working. Then if they aren't change them
Im not sure i even care what the policies are anymore.
I did not know that I was so left winged. No matter what an online test says, there's no way I'm 87% aligned with the federal NDP. I might be able to hold my nose and vote for "Just Not Ready" , but there's no chance Mulcair gets my vote.
What a crappy election. This feels like the provincial election, but with more potential consequences. There needs to be a shake up, but just enough to scare our politicians straight. Not an NDP majority, please.
