What happened to Sterling's passing ability? I've only been watching since the end of the second half and I think I've counted a half-dozen times Sterling has sold out his teammates with an under-strength pass.

And when did Ivanovic get Rory Delap's arms surgically installed? Holy crap he can launch the ball all the way to the penalty spot!

And now Chelsea getting torn to shreds. I love how they always pan to Jose.

I'm afraid that's a piece of trivia I'm unaware of. If he is associated with the great Satan that is Edmonton then he is deserving of ceaseless ridicule!

Seeing Jose, Terry and Costa getting humiliated like that is deeply satisfying.

Begovic grew up in Edmonton after his family fled Bosnia. I believe he played at u-20 level and was even on the bench for Canada a few times but was never actually capped. Next thing you knew he was suiting up for Bosnia after he became the #1 at Portsmouth
Hes also stated on twitter a time or 2 that he is a big Oilers fan.

Sounds like something an Oiler fan would do. It's like destiny that he's at Chelsea now.

This week's scapegoat is JT. After playing him for pretty much all of last season the captain is subbed at half time in game 2.
The start of the demotion?
@Chelsea_HQ Mourinho clearly not happy with Terry's performance today. Says he wasn't injured & reminds him that he gave him a chance when he returned.

John Terry brings a whole new meaning to 'clearing your lines.'

Considering how shambolic their defence was without him I wouldnt be selling him down the river just yet, and didnt he just sign a new contract?

not to say Begovic was at fault, but just based on his height and agility Courtois saves the first 2 goals

Football is definitely a business and United are engaged in contract negotiations with deGea. They both have the right to use whatever leverage is available to them (i.e. de Gea can leave on a free while United can burn £20m) but there is a breaking point. While I can't fault United for letting a player rot on the bench if the player refuses to play (e.g. pulling a Sterling), I'd consider it negotiating in bad faith if they benched a player for simply showing their hand (e.g. Walcott's last contract at Arsenal).
In the situation at hand, it all depends on whether or not de Gea is refusing to play.

the only possible issue with keeping DDG this season is potentially angering future Spanish players from going to United
the 20m is nothing, and when you consider that maybe it's the difference between the KO rounds in the CL and not making it out of the group stages (plus the win bonuses for each game) can be worth 10-15m on it's own, they don't need to sell him

Also if those Marca rumors are true, and DDG is getting a 12m payout from Madrid to stay a year
its win win for him too
