In 1992 Tyson was convicted and sentenced to 6 years... he served 3 years and resumed his career and is still a somewhat major celebrity - Hangover Part 2 in 2011. and numerous cameos in popular TV shows.

I would say he's a fairly minor celebrity now, more of a curiosity piece. Just my opinion, but Hangover Part 2 isn't much of a resume builder.

We could assume those people were guilty because there was a wealth of evidence to make that decision based on. Let's wait and see what kind of evidence there is to go on in this case before jumping to conlcusions either way.

Yep. I know I can't be the only guy that had those nights where it seemed like intimacy was a sure thing and then she pulls the plug at the last minute. It sucks and sexual frustration can certainly be intense. Then you just watch a movie, drive her home and bust out some knuckle kids after and everything is fine.

I have no respect for guys that think consent is implied by being present.

I'm sure you aren't saying it's okay to force people to have sex with you because they in your hotel room after dark, but it's coming across that way.

Maybe you mean she went to his room to have sex with him, and lied afterwards about having been assaulted?

As your comments read right now, you seem to be saying that she went to his hotel room and Tyson was then allowed to have sex with her whether she wanted it or not because 'what else did she expect to happen?'.

The thing about consent is it can be withdrawn at any time. I think most agree with you that entering the hotel room certainly looked consentual, but are defensive if you are implying that she (or he) could not still have a change of heart.

That's not the whole story though wasn't there also some over aggression on Tyson's part as well? This may have factored in the woman's decision. It doesn't matter if a woman is in a room at wee hours this should not constitute consent. For all we know she initially thought they had a connection until she saw how things were playing out.
