I think it's important to remember that they listed this as a NHL 16 EASHL beta. Their goal is to test a mode which was the most used online mode because it was missing from last years experience. I can understand some of the frustration but at the same time understand that this beta is EASHL only and that's how it should be judged.
Then have drop in games. Otherwise it really becomes an exercise in frustration

Really dumb move on ea's part. I don't play eashl at all but was excited about the beta.
Unfortunately, it takes forever to actually find a club that is in dressing room ready to play. Having a drop in concept seems like a no brainer , yet another miss by the nhl team.

Awesome. Reminds me of, I think, 07, when I had Regehr's +/- roll over from +255 to -255. I was quite disappointed because there were only 20 or so games left in the season to fix his numbers.
Yeah, I played on super easy mode.
Haha, there is some validity to super easy mode. I remember in like NHL 04 picking up Paul Kariya and breaking Gretzky's single season goals record. And having Toni Lydman be a 90-100 point defenseman, winning the Norris every single season. Good times.
That didn't take long. Hopefully the change doesn't cut into their production budget. They really need to hit one out of the park with this game or else I could see other developers seeing blood and producing 2017 editions of 2K ect.
Sorry if I missed it in this thread, but was there an offer last year to trade in your used copy of NHL14 towards NHL 15? If so, is that happening this year, and at what retailer?

Goodbye EASHL.
I think EA has exclusive rights to the NHL unfortunately.

They have the exclusive rights to the NFL. NHL anyone can do, there is no money in a hockey game so most developers won't do it
2K would be the only one that I could see possibly doing a hockey game, but I doubt they will ever take money away from NBA 2K to make a game that might possibly take 1% of a market that EA has pretty much cornered. It is exactly like EA and their attempt to grab a part of the NBA market...

I like the idea of be a pro but I can't get over how I have no problem getting 250+ points per year while the rest of my team is just there as a conduit to my greatness.
Not going to lie... I thought Kane being on the cover was pretty fitting. Hasn't EA pretty much been raping their customer base for years now?
But that's not NEW, this season is what new for the 1st time on next generation consoles. Since they held back this year they can now apply that next year as a new feature

The game looks decent this year. Haven't bought one in years so this might be it, the only thing for me is being able to turn off the player indicators and puck shadow/trail/effects.
Everything that is extra over real televised hockey completely ruins it for me because it messes with my eyes and I can't focus, hopefully they can be turned off.
