Regardless if this has any bearing in this incident, if I were any of these guys I would insist on taping any random hookups. Videotaped consent, and at the very least audio till conclusion. Seriously.
This might give the average guy some problems, but I expect these types would not lose many as a result.

To be fair, before 2009, most people would have never thought Kane would have been capable of beating up a cab driver because he didn't have 50 cents in change.

If Kane did this or not, rest assured it will end with a settlement.

However, the fact that she went to the hospital is a pretty big flag that SOMETHING happened.

Something = sex, consensual or otherwise

Yup. The women refused to cooperate with the police though after she made the allegation. Police also said they didn't find her credible.

Yeah of course. It would just be weird for her to go through that process if she didn't feel wronged in some way.
Or maybe she's just really smart and covering all the bases. It says she received a "rape kit" what is that? A Plan B pill and sent on their way? They must have checked her for signs of rape, but I'm sure none of that will be revealed unless there's a trial.

Had an idea!

Amazing how public perception has gotten to the point where every single time there is a news worthy rape accusation, people automatically assume the girl is just going for a payday.

I don't see a single post here assuming that.

Do you see that happening here other than a few posters suggesting it's a possibility?
If you are, I'm apparently reading a different thread.

Should we assume everyone accused is guilty?
Seems like most people are pretty tepid with the limited information.

This mentality is how Bill Cosby got away with it for half a century.
Edit: this is also why many legitimate rape victims don't actually go to police or come forward at all. There is no "looking for a payday" the loss of reputation, negative public perception, victim shaming etc. makes it much much harder to go to police or come forward especially when a powerful person is involved. 99% of people aren't actually sociopaths looking for the quickest buck no matter the cost, guys.

No one here is assuming anything.
And I would say, that when these things are released, there is a more sizable portion of people who will see him as a rapist forever regardless of what happens, and especially if it's settled out of court as these usually are. We've seen plenty of examples of people latching onto incomplete stories too quickly and it snowballing into something terrible.
People just want to see retribution for those who falsely accuse people of rape when it turns out to be the case. Not saying it's the case here, but it has been before and the accusers are hardly ever held as accountable as they should be.

A "rape kit" can take a few hours to complete and can be rather traumatic. If you are wearing clothing you wore during the assault, you will be asked to give it over as evidence. If you have already changed clothes, bring the clothes you were wearing during the assault with you in a bag.
The nurse or doctor who is working with you will take various "samples" from you, such as fingernail scrapings, hair standards, oral swabs, etc. This is for evidence collection as well as to establish a difference between your DNA and any other that is found.
The nurse or doctor may also look at your body using a fluorescent lamp that allows the practitioner to see evidence that they cannot see with the naked eye.
The final stage of the exam is a vaginal/penile exam in which the nurse or doctor checks for injury and also conducts evidence collection in this area.
After the exam is complete, you should then be permitted to wash up using toiletries provided by the hospital. The hospital should also have clothing for you to put on if you have given your own clothing over as evidence.

Actually I dont see anyone here automatically assuming anything. But when its a wealthy, high-profile athlete that type of thing happens.
In some ways its a good thing. It means we've learned from the days where merely mentioning rape meant that people were screaming for blood and demanded that the man be passed around a correctional facility like the village bicycle.
These days theres equal opportunity mindless outrage.
At the end of the day though I think it upsets people more because of the lack of consequences on the other end.
If a man is even accused of potentially maybe committing rape his name is dragged through the mud never to be clean again.
If a woman accuses that man for money and its found to be groundless they're politely sent along their way with maybe a small fine and some community service.
Its a low-risk/high-reward strategy.
Especially in conjunction with what some people have said, most athletes dont need to rape anyone as theres usually a great many perfectly willing participants.
Sure, maybe they've got a mental thing where thats the only thing that does it for them, thats always possible, but in cases like this there is a far greater likelihood that someone will be paid to disappear whether anyone is guilty or not and until that stops there probably a greater than average likelihood of a fraudulent claim.
And if he did it then the torches and pitchforks will well and truly be out and ready.

It has nothing to do with sex or rejection. It's about power over someone.
